Good Picture

Much better audio then TS release

V=8
A=7
M=7

Good plausable story line

V=9
A=9.5(Sounds Great on my pc better than most other R5's I've seen)
M=?? Yet to see
The sync issues are unnoticable(well with vlc and kmplayer) and there is a fix available if you can notice it.
Another Great Release From PUKKA

Looks fine to me couldn't find any sync issues at all, mind you I did update codecs the other day

Posted by NibbleMe on 07-25-2007 03:08 PM:

From full thing..

V: 9
A: 7 (Yes, on the second CD it does go the VERY VERY SLIGHTEST bit out of sync. We're talking milliseconds of milliseconds here. Audio doesn't have much depth to it but it's very clear and more than worthy.)
M : ?

Sync issues ???

Well you're never gonna guarrantee good sync playback when the rules point everything to VBR audio, This Xvid rule is the only system that uses VBR audio and it sucks. Direct show is a bit basic so FF-show is a must-do upgrade and so is Nic's or Keopi xvid codecs just to get it stable with Media-player. As for VLC, do me a favour, I've seen so many sync comlaints with references to VLC that I wouldn't even be arsed to look at it. My Media player2 works brilliant and well synced and I get mutiple screens playing all over the place, so as a Sub-Editor (Sub-Reader) I do easily notice sync issues.

V = 9 (good, typical R5 Mpeg2 stream)

A = 6 (Average, Typical Pukka stuff - over-filtered and clipped - could try dropping the Vol. before filtering, just takes a bit longer.

M = 8 Bruce Willis Old ???, Who said that?, Well I hope I'm as active at his age or even had just one Jot of the money he's made - cus it's a good movie and is having gret success - Go see it. It's fun.

I sit here at home fix it and make it better then when I got it and the best part is I DONT MESS IT UP. Why not release everything with surround sound if you have to put the time in anyways?
The audio in this is out of sync in cd 2 and the whole movie sounds out of pitch and not much bass, video looks good

v/9
a/4 ( out of sync and pitchy and low bass)
m/9 best so for out of all the DH series

and what u dont relize is these groups use MP3 audio NOT ac3 Audio.. cuz AC3 audio SUCKS

Ac3 audio sucks???

NO - Ac3 audio does not suck - but it's a very big file size for Xvid formats and reduces the overall file size remaining for the Video stream - Typical file sizes for an average 2hr movie = 400 Mb Ac3 full SS dolby - 180 Mb Ac3 2ch dolby - 90 Mb Mp3 2ch Vbr - 85 Mb Mp3 2ch Cbr - Don't have to be rocket scientist to figure why movie groups make their choices of audio to enhance their Video

*Note these are not exact sizes quoted as Various bit-rates and choice of sample-rates can greatly alter these sizes, it's just based on averages. but the Mp3 calculation is about as low as you can get it.

Yeah like Sony software ever works - 'Go Create', Go F**k yourself Sony, well untill you give us some decent tools to work with

If you want to help Movie groups like PUKKA etc. first find out how Video/Audio streams work and there limitations when warping and filtering, then maybe you could tell them the advantages (or not) when warping with Goldwave using the fixed rate feature and length by run time with frame calculation @ 33ms, 40ms, 42ms per frame, thus avoiding that annoying warbling sound, this is how hollywood do it with all their billions available, so the chances of Sony or any lowly PC doing any better are a bit slim.

Allthough this route is a bit mind bogling and bloody time consuming I do it all the time, ever since S.W.A.T., cus no matter what, I have never been able to play ntsc through my Sony-Pal 36" WS, It just gives jerky playback (especially during slow pan & scan shots) you can only playback ntsc properly if your telly is ntsc-pal switchable, and not many are.

but don't just thank them or dis them for the wrong reasons or they'll be thinking everything they produce is the best ever and won't have a clue how to tweek their programs and save their templates.

sorry for rambling on - but I hope there's some info here that's a little more constructive than just endless whinging of late.

You dumb cluebie, you can't "make" surround out of stereo anymore than you can "make" a colour picture out of B&W.

sum more sync stuff???

What sync issues is everyone going on about?

I've tried everythink to de-sync this, but I can't, I've even made a Mp2 audio file with Tmpeg which stablizes Vbr Mp3, and I still don't have a sync problem, so what chuffin players are you lot using? to f**k up a good job from PUKKA - oh yeah, it's actually a better line audio than Visual's (which goes up-n-down a bit) but it's a bit harsh in the top range, and a bit shallow on the bass side, Wavelab'll give you good results with 'some filtering' from the EQ master filter.

Great release only a slight sync issue that was easily fixed.

V=9
A=9
M=8

i think one thing that can signify that this as a R5 is that the title in the beginning it says DIE HARD 4.0,where as in the states its LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD.

anyway solid release,i had absolutley no sync issues on either cd

V 8.5

A 7.5

M 8

Pukka's fix works on CD1 but I noticed it goes slightly out-of-sync on CD2 in the scene where McClane's daughter is tied up and the main bad guy is communicating with McClane and then they bring the hacker kid into the room.

Posted by kelnar on 07-29-2007 02:22 AM:

actually no it doesn't and never did go out of sync for most people. if you are having problems, it's your codecs/player and you should try a different one.

yes it does, which is why it was nuked. Some people just aren't able to notice these kinds of things.
