-- The Simpsons Movie - DVD SCR - mVs (http://www.vcdhq.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=77868)
Not bad 8/8/7
Its a russian source i downloaded this dubbed in russian yesterday.
I'm amazed fox has made a dvdscr of this so early the watermark looks fake too
Quality wise its great for a week after the release, movie was a big dissapointment though.

Lets keep this simple. This rls is from studio source. It is not
uncommon to find cig burns from reel changes on dvd scr sources and
there has never been a telecine available with in house watermarks.
this was a really good movie dvd scr, or ts, but there is a watermark in the lower right cornor FOXINT every 20-40 mins..
19:39 is one of the watermarks, really light but not noticiable
i beleve i seen 1 cig burn it was like there for 1/2 sec..

Mislabeled Tc, but great nonetheless
8/8/6 - Solid release

My question then -- if this is a TC then why is there no subtitles during Santa's Little Helper's lines? They would be burned in if it were a TC which leads me to believe this really is a DVDSCR.....

well i am new to all this Malarkey so can not rate it as a dvd scr or anything for that matter but why this is nuked i dont know, i have watched it all the way through and cannot fault it, it would be nice to see a few more "dvd scr" with this quality
for whatever format it is

m:10 thats just my preference
The simple fact is people. If it was a Tele-cine from Cinema Reels it would have the subtitles on it. So don't all be pretending to know what you're talking about. You all clearly don't.

M-10+ Excellent Simpsons. Laughed my a$$ off all the way through.
Edit*
The bits missing the subs should read:

THIS IS NOT A MISLABELED TC!
the studio just didn't clean up the film completely because... its a dvdscr (duh). its not ment to be seen by the public and the movie just came out so they are not worried about a burn mark.
the AC3 audio also kinda gives it away. oh and the 2.9xGB dvdr they released.
video: 10
audio: 10
movie: 9
this release is good enough for now

I'm sort of confused. I just found this site the other day on accident, so I'm new to this place.
Anyway, here's my question: I see all these movies, and sample pictures so that you can see how the quality is before you download it... I get that. What I don't get is how you actually find where you can download the movie from... I see this movie, and few other that I want, but I have no idea where to find them... Can I download them off of here, or does it say somewhere exactly where to go to download these?!
-Aphlikxion
:MOD EDIT: ..this is your first and last warning. The rules (which you obviously didn't bother reading) state that asking where to download files is a no-no. We don't offer movies, we review the releases. -V
I'll rate the movie, but lemme hypothesize here for a minute.
Personally, my guess is that the source mVs used did come on a DVD. Given the quality of the video it isn't hard to see why a casual viewer might think it's an actual DVD SCR. I suspect that mVs simply scanned through randomly to make sure audio was in sync rather than watching the whole film start to finish, hence why they didn't notice the cig burns or any of the other "identifying" markers that indicate this is a TC of some variety.
Now, as to what this is... my guess is, honestly, an R5 that originally had forced (but not hardcoded) subs, hence why the bits with the birds and SLH aren't subtitled. If it's not an actual R5 (i.e. not russian) then it's some equivalent. Clearly the video is transfered from film, but it's done at a professional level. The audio doesn't show any of the obvious markers that indicate transcoded AC-3 audio, which makes me pretty certain it originated from the studio.
There's one other, very obscure possibility based on the screen Grim posted, that being a DVD meant for use in a private or semi-private theater that uses all digital equipment. (The kind some hollywood producer/writer/etc. might have, though the PAL format video makes me pretty sure it isn't from hollywood) That would explain the "piracy dots", warning screen and even the cig burns being present on a DVD, as all can be used to identify the originating copy fairly definitively.
Anyway, enough pointless speculation, on to the rating. Rating as a TC...
Video - 9.8: Absolutely stunning. No funky colors, no scratches, dust, or noise (even block noise) in the picture. Indistinguishable from a DVD save for the piracy dots, one-frame watermarks and cig burns. I do have to deduct 0.2 points for not having subtitles for the two subtitled jokes (the birds and Santa's Little Helper).
Audio - 9: Some of the effects are out of phase, so the left and right channels occasionally cancel each other out. (or at least cancel the sound effect out when it's played on a mono or center channel speaker) It's sped up due to it being a PAL transfer, but I'm not deducting points for that since it appears to be a studio transfer. Other than that it's great audio.
Movie - 8: I've already reviewed it once in the Pukka TS thread, so I'll be simple and to the point: moments of unbridled hilarity broken by longer periods of "just normal" funny. Very entertaining and a worthwhile way to spend roughly 90 minutes. I hope to see more Simpsons movies in the future.
Bottom Line: Screw the nuke, get this release. If mVs had called this an R5 (a lie, probably) nobody would have been the wiser, which just goes to show how retarded the scene gets sometimes. It's a great release, easily mistaken for DVD quality. Until the retail DVD is released you won't find a better copy out there. (Probably; you can never be too sure what some enterprising pirate will get their hands on next)
Why would this be an R5 when it has not come out in Russia yet. Opening day in Russia is in 2 weeks.
As TC:

M - 9

Congratulations
I felt the need to post on this release.
I think even nuking this is purely technical.
Even if it's not a DVDSCR, it is at least is WORTH that.
mVs, you guys have cemented yourselves in history with this one. Well done
V: 9
A: 9
M: 7
omg you're all noobies
v:9.5
a:10
m:5(it's just a long episode)
This release originated as a FRENCH-DVDSCR that happened to be captured from FILM to a digital format. It was run into a telecine machine AND/OR captured from the source, IE FOX, explaining the tags in the lower left hand corner.
Audio is perfectly clear, English AC3, Stereo audio. I had to strip, re-code the audio to .ogg, boost 6db and re-mux to get a clean, in-sync picture with the audio.
V:9.5 Besides the ciggy burns where the reel changes we're in the FILM, it's 100 Percent solid.
A:7...(8.5 After Edit Fix)
I had to play with it to get a good, full sounding track.
M: 9.9 Funnier than all hell, Great Flick! Almost a 10!
