If you tell me you've also watched (and enjoyed) Bottom, Monty Python and Fawlty Towers - I'll make you an honorary Brit... which means you're allowed to fuck Camilla Parker Bowles in the arse.
Oh, and...

Adrian Edmonson wasn't involved but you really should watch The New Statesman as well.
As an impressionable child, Alan B'stard was a worthy role model.
Some of you Americans are bringing a tear to my eye... Good on yer lads, give Friends, Sex in the City and that other turgid shit a good kicking from Blighty.
*sings the national anthem*
I love you guys!

Been watching Monty Python, Dangerous Brothers, and The Young Ones since like 5th grade. Which is quite amazing for a yank kid.
Then again I was probably the only kid to watch A Clockwork Orange in the 4/5th grade also.

Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmonson were good, personally Bottom was my favourite, probably more to do with my age at the time of watching it than the actual content.
BUT...
Good as they are I don't think they should be classed in the same league as Monty Python. The Pythons were true comedy pioneers, rivalled only by the wit of Peter Cook. Life of Brian is a fucking masterpiece that, with the PC brigade about, will NEVER be equalled. /me wipes tear from eye. (Japs eye)
I used to have the Monty Python PC games "Complete Waste Of Time" and "Holy Grail" back in the late 90s....many hours a spent there.

YEp Life on Mars was good, hope Ashes to Ashes will be just as good.
Theres no John Simm but Philip Glenister should be able to carry it.
You'd better watch Life on Mars before the American "remix" is aired - in case they fuck it up
