Infinity does not simply mean endless growth this is only how it is used when performing limits, not when it is used to describe the cardinality of a set. Infinity differs from finite numbers in the properties it exhibits, but using properties to define numbers is superfluous and begs the question. Mathematicians working with formal systems can choose to work with whichever entities they so choose, but this does not affect the underlying logical reality numbers still exist regardless of what formal system is employed.

In order to clarify the issue, three clear and unambiguous definitions for number have been proposed: infinity as the sort of thing we can tally; infinity as an indicator of quantity; and infinity as an abstract logical object that is equinumerous to some conceivable set. None of these conceptions of number conflict, and each one of them supports the idea of infinity as a number. These three definitions stand unopposed, as competing theories have been shown to be faulty. The acceptance of only one of these three definitions is sufficient to conclude that infinity is a number.

There is nothing left that remains to be said; the opposition has failed to provide a supporting framework for their claim, whereas several viable definitions of number that include infinity have been proposed. Advancement in the understanding of infinity will not come as a result of research illuminating the issue; it will come as a result of intellectual communities accepting what has already been demonstrated: infinity is a number.

unfortunately, kids these days all know OF monty python, but only the holy grail (and most of them add "the quest for" into the title)... i prefer life of brian in the full length section, and if i had to choose a favorite derivative of python, it would be John Cleese's How to Irritate People. Fawlty Towers was decent, and I used to catch Black Adder at my dad's, but I've never seen bottom...

same here zoidy....fawlty was ok....never heard of bottom...and i def went through the python family and offsprings.....as far as python flicks...brian rules em all....but terry gilliam surpassed anything they did together with most of his flicks.....but bottom?....it might not have reached the states....

.i used to watch a bunch of brit tv on pbs stations throughout the 80s...fucked if i remember what they were called now though...i do remember "are you being served" was one of em

i also seen danger bros...a sort of jackass in the 80s with rick mayall and adrian edmunson...but mayall mustve been tired of gettin the short end cause adrian played the butt of the jokes
i heard some of these guys did another show together but i dont remember what its called...

Been watching Monty Python, Dangerous Brothers, and The Young Ones since like 5th grade. Which is quite amazing for a yank kid.

Then again I was probably the only kid to watch A Clockwork Orange in the 4/5th grade also.

Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmonson were good, personally Bottom was my favourite, probably more to do with my age at the time of watching it than the actual content.

BUT...

Good as they are I don't think they should be classed in the same league as Monty Python. The Pythons were true comedy pioneers, rivalled only by the wit of Peter Cook. Life of Brian is a fucking masterpiece that, with the PC brigade about, will NEVER be equalled. /me wipes tear from eye. (Japs eye)

Excellent show... Truely inspired and I can't wait for the spin-off that is set in the 1980s. Can't remember the name but I get moist thinking about it. It might not be "comedy" as such but the writing is spectacular and about as non-PC as you can get

(if anybody else here still hasn't seen Life on Mars - DO IT!)
