-- American Gangster *XViD* - DVD SCR - PUKKA (http://forum.vcdq.com/showthread.php?threadid=78933)
Here's a real rating:
v6 (it's DARK!)
a9
m8 (great!)
It shouldn't matter if we can fix the darkness factor ourselves.... this rls is very dark! The video should not be rated higher than a 6 because of that OR for even the fact that this rls is out before it hits theaters. If you rate the video based on a dvdcr it sucks! That's just the way it is.

V:9 A bit hazy
A: 9 Regular stereo
M: 8 Could have been a bit shorter
Props to Pukka for a great release
For a DVDSCR I would expect better, but this is early and it's a DVDSCR! Everything that's needed to be said about it has been by other posters: Dark/hazy/fuzzy/et cetera. Perfectly watchable, wonderful release.
V-7.5
A-8
M-?
Edit: Even on my standalone this is very very dark. Will definitely have to tweak the color settings.

With regards to the darkness issue...
I'll be the first to admit that when played back on my laptop it did look kinda dark, however when played back on the TV it looks absolutely fine, no complaints at all from me!

:MOD EDIT: ..repost your question in the newbie section please. -V
First thanks to PUKKA. An Oscar contender many say and we have this quality rlse out so quickly. It is dark though. Seldom mention this because can easily correct with what I play it on. This rlse as well but not the best result I've had. Also there is some haziness, blurriness, lack of vibrant color and a few other things. All very minor. Sound is great. Long movie am almost finished. First class. Kudos again to PUKKA
7.5/8.5/?
What a movie. 9
nice movie, but too dark. why? ripper's mistake or that's just the way it is.
and mistake about runtime in nfo
157 mins doesn't mean 1:57, pukka.
anyway, nice rip~~
v:8 (hazy, dark, but youll never hear me complain about a great movie getting released a week before the big screen...)
a:9 (no complaints)
m: watching soon
V: 8.7 A little bit dark but nothing the overlay option couldnt fix, disc 2 seems to be better.
A: 9.0
M: 9.4 (Wow, best movie ive seen this year so far)

pukka does it again!
mad props, and thanks of course for this special treat
it's not as great as some dvd scr's i've seen, it actually bears more resemblance to that of a VHS screener in terms of picture quality, well okay it's not that bad... but like everyone else said, it could be a little lighter and colorful, and sharper too.
either way it's completely watchable and of course thanks to pukka again for providing this to us so early!
as dvdscr:
v-7 washed, dark, not sharp
a-10 ac3 audio, perfect quality
m- watching now, i have very high hopes based upon other people's posts!
