for putting out yet ANOTHER out of sync release!

from what everyone else is saying i'll wait for a decent copy...the sync really isn't a major issue and can be easily fixed using VLC, but as far as the missing scenes and the cutoff on the credits goes that's something i don't think should be tolerated by anyone.

should be nuked.

I totally agree with you and you should teach them a lesson and wait until July or whenever the DVD rip shows up. I can't believe so many people are complaining about free when it's so flooded with cams these days.

The current situation of things doesn't give PUKKA any excuse or slack for a rls that's missing scenes.

PS: nothing in the scene is free. people work for their credits/downloads. p2p noobs can't complain, though.

I'll give you the part about it's not free to a point. I mean it costs more to head to your local movie then to download this. Yeah, I may pay for my downloads, but hey, I could blow that on a trip to McDonalds. I do understand some though have to wait all month for their Mom's to go into the basement and give them their mothly allowance. I don't like the missing parts, but you know there is way to much whining for some time now.

I can agree with that. People are whining too much it seems. Some just don't realize that even 3 yrs ago we didn't have R5's to look forward to. It was all about the next great TS rls to hold us over til a dvdscr or dvdrip.... or maybe a REAL tc.

People are expecting way too much too soon, now.... with the rise of the mega uploading 'sites'. Noobs are getting things faster than many sceners now (if they pay or upload their porn for p.points LOL).......

New people do NOT appreciate what they're getting from the scene, now! That pisses me off!!! 2004 wasn't that long ago, but we were BLESSED with 2 nice ts of Spiderman 2 from videocd (1 was internal).... but now people/noobs expect some fucking r5 about a month after a movie comes out!!! And they actually have the balls to complain lol!!!

Should be Nuked

V 7
A 7
Movie 10/10

The reason that is should be nuked is that it has scenes missing. Now usually this wouldnt be a problem except that the scenes which are missing are pivitol to the plot and the ending.

i however dl the script so I have been able to fill in the blanks.

i thank pukka for releasing but even though picture and sound are excellent for a early release they should have checked what was missing!!

i don't think releases with sync issues and missing scenes should be allowed. i'm still waiting on a Things We Lost in the Fire proper. i was so glad to see this was out, but now i'll just delete it. it's not playing anywhere near me or i'd have already bought a ticket. somebody should proper this. our local film festival showed The Darjeeling Limited this week, so i finally got to see that one. do these groups even watch what they have before they send it out? hmm.

maybe you should actually try watching the movie and see how the scene cuts / glitches affect the plot before you label me as a "complainer"

it has a big effect on the movie as a whole, and that's the reason i posted my comments on the release, not to just rant about something that is insiginificant.

note: i just finished it, and i have no clue what happened because of the scene jumps. this is very significant and effects the entire movie, and in my opinion, is unwatchable.

I agree with the above 100%. We are not complainers and are in no way ungrateful if we want this release nuked. Nuking this release has absolutely nothing to do with the visual quality. This release is simply missing SEVERAL scenes, and that makes it impossible to fully appreciate the story, acting, directing, etc...

I found yet another scene that is absolutely vital to the understanding of the film (occurs at 00:24:58, CD2). See my posts above for time stamps for the other missing scenes. Above all, however, the very end is incomplete; and there is 15 minutes of footage/events that lead up to the end of the movie that have been completely rearranged and taken out of the proper chronological order. Anyone would agree that this disorder disrupts the ending and probably confuses the viewer.

And so, if this does not deserve to be nuked, then what does? I simply think that people should know that this is not the real version of the movie, and that it will give them a false impression of what the movie is. I mean, what if a couple thousand people voted on the movie on IMDB when they actually saw a misrepresentation of the actual movie (ok, I know that people vote on IMDB all the time without even seeing the movie, but you get the point though)?

Its not about complaining or whining... Thanks, PUKKA. Thanks also to sites like this that rate the films.
For some people, its not an issue, for others, it is, actually.

I don't know how to rate video that's missing scenes. Quality was ok, but for me, it was unwatchable. I'll wait. I'm still grateful for the group for the release, but I'm also grateful for all those that post about missing scenes or sync issues because then I simply don't download something I don't want.

One comment about R5's - we do have to thank scene members somewhat for those, as well, as it was the pressure of the pirates and sceners that caused the studios to start licensing early R5 releases. Pirate versions hit the kiosks in Russia while the films are still in the theaters - R5's sometimes come out simultaneous with theatrical release and are the only way to compete with the pirates.

agreed, this movie is written like a play almost.
the scenes are very long and intricate. it's not just the words and dialogue that's missing though, it's significant emotional and meaningful events that are simply left out (i say this after talking to people who have seen the real deal).

now, what is there to appreciate about an amazing movie that is pretty much ruined because of a shotty release? not much. it's not about complaining and not appreciating it, and if you are a true movie lover, you will agree with me. it's not about it being free and people giving it no value. that has NOTHING to do with it. it has no value to me because it is incomplete and ruins the story.

if it were a top notch release with the entire story entact then i would definately appreciate it and be grateful for the groups hard work, but it's not.

Come the fuck on guys, This part of VCDQ is for
commenting on the Quality of a release. Plane and simple.
Be it Good or bad.

It really grinds my nads when i see people telling others..
"Stop whining, its Free" or "groups work hard for ....."

SHIT, if its a shit release SAY SO. its not Whining ffs.

If there's scenes missing, Say so
If there's sync problems, Say so

IT IS NOT, (and i repeat) NOT MOANING!!!!
to comment on such issues in this section of the forum.

In the same way praising a good release isn't Kissing ass or being a FanBoy.

On to this release:
If it wasn't for the slight Sync issue and the missing minutes
it would be an awesome TC.

Me hopes for a PROPPER, be it from PUKKA or whoever.

Everyone who wants to fix the out of sync error on cd2, this is how you do it:

You will need VirtualDubMod

1) Load the CD2 file into VDubMod

2) Click the VIDEO tab up the top and click DIRECT STREAM COPY, then click the OPTIONS tab and 'untick' 'sync to audio'
Then select STREAMS and then STREAM LIST. Right click on the Audio Stream (you will see it there with all details of the audio) and select INTERLEAVING then set the DELAY AUDIO TRACK BOX to -300 ms, then click OK and then OK again.

3) Lastly click the FILE tab up the top and select SAVE AS... and give the file a new name different from the original.
Thats, it, and it only takes a couple of minutes or less to save.

4) to check if it is insync, on your new file goto 26mins and 55seconds into cd2. On the original cd2 file when he is hammering the rod into the table the last tap is out of sync, if this is all insync then your whole CD2 will be fine.

Thats it.. thats how to fix the sync problem.

Now, again PUKKA has stuffed up and released a Nuke, as the guy said above me, but it can be fixed easily (it takes about 20 seconds, and less than 2 mins to resave) using the method above.

But overall once the movie is FIXED here is my review:

Movie: 8/10 - good story, an excellent movie, well worth the watch.
Audio: 7 (for a TS good)
Video: 8 (for a TS is really good)
(the above rating are based on a TS release).

If you dont want to wait for the PROPER r REPACK of this TS, then doing the above instructions will fix everything perfect for you, and a tip - you can even join the 2 files together if you like using an AVI Joiner.

Hope you find this tutorial fixes alot of you guyz problems
