It seems to me, that if you're poor, you should be a Democrat, and the better off you get, you should be a Republican. Unless you're poor and a Republican, then you're just a redneck who doesn't care to improve his situation and is more worried that two guys might be kissing somewhere.

Throughout my life I'd been a Democrat, but in the last few years my salary has been going up, and I have my own business on the side. I'm nowhere near the 250,000 mark, but I'm doing pretty good for myself.

Guess what? I'm not a Democrat anymore... left for the Libertarian party last election season. Even if i do start to hit that the hundreds of thousands per year standard of living, don't really think I'll be converting to Republican. When I was making less than 10,000 a year as a soldier, and paying a good chunk of that in taxes, I used to think, how nice would it be if some fuckers making billions this year tossed in an extra million so I could have an extra hundred or two to pay bills, buy pizza, whatever.

Now that I'm in the hundred thousandaire club, i'm thinking i can afford an extra thou a year to help people like my mom pay less in their taxes. And I'm pretty sure if I hit the millionaire's club or billionaire's club, i can give up an extra yacht or downgrade my $60,000 a night suite in vegas for a modest $10,000 a night... its a big sacrifice i know, but i'm pretty sure i could do it.
