Movie news, reviews and gossip.NOT reviews of scene releases.

Seriously, you boys are shitting up these threads. There's plenty of places that you can talk scene releases that would appreciate it. One of the only 2 sentences of guidance on this forum tells you it's not appreciated.

Discuss the movie. Discuss Bond. Discuss something tangentially relevant (that isn't releases). But fuck off with the latest reencode, the latest sync error, and the latest crop.

Hmmm...never played with fonts on here before

Edit: final time I'm going to change it. 'courier' is definitely the most 'rulebook' looking.

It was probably the worst (big budget) edited movie I have seen in years. What should be big sweeping dramatic action scenes are hacked into what looks like a shoestring budget that couldn't afford the stunts but is trying to deceive your mind into thinking they're there.

I have no doubts that the car chase at the beginning/bell tower rope swinging/aeroplane through valley/rooftop chase/etc. scenes had weeks of prep and filming with a dozen cameras catching it all. What you see on screen is almost strobing with the cuts and splices.

Most that I've talked to have said it was the worst Bond they've ever seen. It's the worst finished product (IMO) but with so much potential that if they get someone who isn't 4yrs old with their first copy of Adobe Premiere to re-edit it they'll end up with a pretty decent movie.

Having said all that, I enjoyed it (moderately).

Blah. I usually dont like agreeing on a movie with someone as I almost always have my own feelings but I would have to agree with Baha on almost everything he said. Not a bad movie overall but not a Bond movie at all. Didnt have the essense of a bond movie, no appreciation for surroundings from the director. no real fluidity to the shots. it felt more like a edited for tv movie as i swear parts were hacked out for later release as a directors cut.

The whole reason of doing this is because i knew there was gonna be at least 10 versions of the bloody film and most of them are the same source, now "some" people have caps and can only grab a set amount a month, this was the reason for doing this rather than be a selfish fker i was trying to help others out, and better to do it here than on the actual release's every time 1 comes out.
Plus i don't do this for every film but i knew this would be 1 of the must see films of the year, for my review read below

Film itself was ok shortest bond film ever and i'd have to say the worst, the opening music was crap too and as mentioned there are a couple of scenes missed out now this i can figure is a possible couple of reasons that spring to mind
1) The film had to be edited very slightly for sync or other reason
2) It was cut for certification in whichever country it was released

Did anyone else have a problem with Bond taking the one person he trusted away from his wife and quiet life, half way around the world, only to use him as a human shield and dump his body in a dumpster?

Him dying was inevitable but Bond using him as a human shield? That's not Bond.

I thought when he was pulled over and they told him to open the boot of the 4x4 i thought he was just done over and then bond uses him as a shield

I thought he was at death's door...but on second thoughts he still manages to take 2 bullets in the back and deliver a farewell...so maybe he wasn't. I quite like the fact he does use him as a shield though: it cements the hard nose Bond, the one who'll fuck anyone over to get what he wants.

I haven't read the books, so can't say for sure, but I've always been led to believe that Bond was always meant to be a vicious bastard; he's meant to be tortured in just about all the books and use people (mostly women) without too much concern. It's just that the censors would never have let him be as vicious as he is now and still let the movies have a wide release. Connery was there or thereabouts with the grit, but the Moore incarnation was just too prissy and prim.

Have to admit I was dubious about Daniel Craig, but he's fast becoming my favourite.
