I stand corrected. The sound is stereo. My headphones were set to mono. My bad

Those pesky little bars top and bottom are supposed to be black not gray colored. Watching it with windows media player classic those bars are black colored. Burn onto a cd-r to watch on a standalone dvd player is gray colored.
