Well, some players are capable of removing the black bars (VLC for example) or you could reencode it but the end result would be the same regardless of how you do it... Vertically distorted video

I that case you'll need to reencode the bastard anyway so just use whatever you're using to convert - unless its shit it should have a cropping option. Otherwise buy/borrow/steal one of those commercial apps.

yeah the program that comes with it sucks !

If it supports 3GP then try Apollo.3GP.Video.Converter.v2.3.7.WinAll.Cracked-EuViN - I've used Apollo before and it's pretty decent and this is the latest version.

i have just been given an old dell laptop for my daughter, the model is the inspiron 8500 but when i go to get the video drivers from the dell web site they don`t work in fact after installation the screen goes black well after restart i get the dell boot screen then the xp loading screen then it goes black, i can hear xp loading up but no pic. any suggestions would be much appreiated

after Dell logo, try press F8 will enter in Safe Mode, then you can choose interactive mode, you will choose if load all drivers or just the base one, then XP must restart to fix the problem.

Your best bet is to probably hunt down the chipset drivers directly from the horses mouth... A program called "Belarc Advisor" will tell you exactly what graphics chipset is in that beast then you can go grab the required drivers - although it's a Dell Inspiron 8500 it's features and chipset will vary depending on what "upgrades" were purchased at the time.

If the "official" drivers give you shit and you have an Nvidia or ATI chipset in that beast (as opposed to some Intel or SiS dogshit) then you can get alternative drivers with all the vendors rubbish removed from http://www.omegadrivers.net/

I'm looking for a decent mini digital camera...I posted on another message board and a user who visited the US on holidays says he saw great ones in electrical shops in the San Diego/Las Vegas area. They were 3mp, $15-$40, record video and audio, take sd cards, and recharge via USB....he thinks the brand was Philips?

I checked eBay and nothing...can you find these things for me? *edit* And I don't mean those awful square keychain type ones all over eBay

I can't find anything on the Philips website that even suggests they do cameras... Are you sure you didn't mean Panasonic or Praktica?

Anyway, it doesn't matter, you don't specify where you are but $15-40 is FUCK ALL in the UK and certainly not enough to get you a 3mp camera. I'd recommend trying some price comparison sites as they're often a good place to start window shopping.

but you might want to try pricerunner and/or pricegrabber as well... Just dive into the digital photography section and sort the fuckers in price order.
