kick ass release, but I hope they will releases their dvd screeners as 4-7 gig dvd-rip so I can burn a dvd-r, because I am never to fond of svcd releases. as vcd I can understand, but if you still going for an svcd it is only a little better quality!!! so please vf4 release the dvd-r!

Are you serious? SVCD releases always look pixelated in JPEG's you should know that...

Cant wait till it comes to where I can get it tomarrow or the day after. This gets my badass movie of last year award. It was fuckin awesome.

Edit: sorry bout that error just looked at the thing on the website it is 3 cd

Just to clear up the 2 CD issue that VCDQuality posted it's actually 3 discs im downloading the third disc now.

SVCDs are only a slight decrease in quality drop from DVD (if done right). VCD looks like crap unless on a small TV. Very big difference.

this is without a doubt the BEST quality screener i have ever seen, so much so that i had to FINALLY register with vcdquality so i could raunt and rave about this. i have a brand new 47" projection hdtv and let me tell you, this svcd didn't look very much different from a widescreen dvd. as everyone knows,vcds look like shit on a big screen tv and most of the time these lame release groups don't encode svcds properly and so therefore they don't look that great but this time they were right on the money! the sound was nice too but you can't expect much from a svcd since it's not possible to get DTS 5.1 surround sound from a svcd. picture was near flawless and audio was perfectly in sync. you go V4F! even if you already saw the vcd release and even if ya didn't like the movie, you have to get the svcd just for the sake of seeing what a marvelous job of encoding they did with this release... wish they all could look this good! 10/9/8

Nice rip I am glad i waited for the this one. cept I ges I gotta wait till sunday fer disk 3. Will just have to tidy up the office or do the washing up or something. maybe talk to my partner and child.

9 - PIC - Great. looks fantastic

8 - Sound - A bit disappointed. expected more in surround sound. just ok.

4 - movie - Very Disappointed! Violence? are u kidding me? all u need to watch in this flic is the first 10 minutes and last 10 minutes. the rest is crap.

i just watched this, it was a great release. i know that it was nuked in places for the reason you say... but it's stupid; the 'svcd council' rules of 2002 have that 2450 max bitrate thing, which is lower than the SVCD standard specs dictate for SVCD, which makes no sense. maybe that's why TCF and some other groups didn't endorse those rules.

this release has a video bitrate with peaks of 2530Kbps, and 224Kbps audio; by even the most conservative interpretation of the SVCD standard specs, this is 2Kbps lower than the max combined bitrate, and 9Kbps or so lower than max for the video. So nuking according to those rules is lame. if you have a dvd player that says it plays svcd, and it falters at this bitrate, you was robbed. take it back and tell them it doesn't perform as advertised.
