well accually not to get on ur bad side or nothing the tcf lotr screener is accually a dvd scr thats when vcdq didnt say if it was a dvd scr or not every scr was just labled scr no matter the source dvd or vhs

well, the LOTR, as already mentioned, was a DVD SCR; the RSP i think also was DVD SCR (tho i'm not sure); and the TCF minority report i believe was from SVHS source, not VHS, which IMO justifies SVCD format.

i'm not too crazy about svcd TS's either, personally... but the justification for them is usually given as, since they are coming from DV, then SVCD will get the best quality possible from the digital tapes. kind of a shaky argument, imo; but SVCD from VHS is *really* pointless.

btw, i disagree with whomever said that the TDi release of TTT was better than the TCF LOTR screener; i think LOTR was one of the best dvdrips i've seen, personally. the only way in which the TDi version was better was that the 'for your consideration' message was less obtrusive than the one on TCF's scr... but of course that has nothing to do with the encoding.
