uh sorry to burst your bubble... no p/n button on Apex 1100w remote... any other ideas...

TV type is changeable Under the picture below

http://pt.zkiller.de/uploads/setup2-1m.jpg

where it says TV type you can choose Multi, PAL, or NTSC.. However, If i choose NTSC i see picture but with bad aspect ratio... IF i choose Palor Multi then i see black and white rotating lines like the screen is out of sync...

Dudes, this is *not* great quality. I just burned the sample and played on my TV. It's off aspect ratio. Yes the movie is 2.30:1 but the people are schetched out (they look fatter). The quality isnt that good, we see big muskitos pixels.

7/7/x

The reason they looked squished is because your DVD player is squishing the 576 vertical pixels of the PAL format into 480 pixels of the NTSC format (mine does it too).

That being said, this is a nice rip but I wouldn't give the video a 10 because even in the sample you can see blocks around the actors and in the background (but only on the PC screen).

9/10/?

whoa.....this is like the greatest release so far in a month or so...

grab the sample and the video looks crisp and audio is nice...

and about seeing blocks around the actors in the movie on the pc?..im just guessing, but you might need to buy a new video card?... .....

im pretty sure it will play very sharp in my dvd player..

nice job tcf...this movie was a lil too overrated, but its was a pretty good movie..

this release gets my salty load too. hate to do it, but I gotta give it 10/10/10 Keifer Sutherland's voice sounds even more cooler when it's crystal clear, in my opinion this is the best movie so far this year, and this is a damn good release. only watched it on my tv so i can't say anything about blocks or whatever, and i didnt bother with the sample, just went straight for the whole thing

indeed, stop living in the past, if you honestly think NTSC offers better picture quality than PAL, then i'll pay for the eye test. All Sony TVs for a long long time have offered Multi-Sync capabilities, so you'll just have to pay for the extra quality for a change

learn to set up your equipment correctly.

looks Great!!! and ive only just got the screener! Ill be getting this as soon as I get off the damn queues!! I watched the sample on pc fine, but when I burnt to cd-rw and played on dvd player it was speeded up with no audio? Maybe my problem somewhere?
Still gonna get it anyway, from the sample alone 10/10/8

I say tough. Invest in new equiptment. NTSC is crappy and outdated. Just because you can't get PAL sources to display correctly doesn't make NTSC immediately superior. The fact that your gear can't display it just proves how trashy and useless it is that the manufactures couldn't be bothered to include any/better PAL/PAL+ compatibility.

If this had been from an NTSC source, no-one would have complained. But because it's from something other than what the majority of people in here are used to, people complained. The rest of the world moved ahead with technology. Seems most of you didn't. Go buy new gear or quit whining.

NTSC sucks. Fuck it i'll take the fuckin Pepsi challenge on this one. Get over it. And i agree with what pHo said, gimme an eye test too. Sheesh.

Maybe that might be so in the UK, but it most cetainly isn't the case here...

I think you're taking my words a little too far... I'm not comparing standards set rather I was voicing that for those that have Televisions that CAN NOT display PAL then PAL is not superior because in order to watch a PAL movie on an NTSC television the dvd player will squash the vertical portion of the video... Unfortunately purchasing a new $4000 television doesn't happen everyday for myself, but it does for you then it must be nice to have that much disposable income... With that being said I'm sure TCF made a nice rip on this release unfortunately, though I guess I'll be missing out on this one

Posted by RichieRags on 04-29-2003 06:36 PM:

I bow my head to you, oh mighty TCF.

I mean, i love SVCD´s so much and everytime i grab any of your releases im in awe..... except for that fuck ya'll did on the 8Mile release... but hey, nobody's perfect eh?...

Definately my favorite group of all times.

This release is probably as good as SVCD gets. This is the third release im getting of this movie, and ill be darned if im not buying the DVD when its out too. Fantastic quality.

decent

i can deal with PAL, that i dont mind too much
but if your gonna max out the bitrate for an 81 minute movie...
do it all the way... make the images fit 80 min cds

ohh the chapters were a nice touch....
i think that should become standard issue anymore

Posted by bertieg on 04-29-2003 07:27 PM:

Stunning, guys just stunning. Both quality and speed.
Maybe some of you guys need new equipment all recent tvs and dvds here in the UK can convert ntsc to pal as standard. And pal quality is better.Blimey even encoding sofware gives you the option to convert from ntsc to pal more so than pal to ntsc.

Posted by pHo on 04-29-2003 07:51 PM:

hmm i was informed in the past that all sony tv's were multisync... maybe they changed their policy. as for me, i always check equipment is x-compatable with all the formats that i might utilise before i purchase it. its just something i think everyone should do, as their complaint is usually caused because they made the wrong choice in purchase.

If you max out the bitrate then some DVD players would not be able to take the bitrate and they could not play the release. Not saying mine has this problem, but I know some do.

Some people are just ignorant and/or they don't know how to read the *.nfo, this is probably why we have a dozens of newbie groups releasing newbie rips. But hey, can ya blame them? everyone has to learn somewhere
