as an evil dead fan it is fair to say that "Within The Woods" is most definatelty Never and i say NEVER gonna be released on the DVD Box set as copyright laws were broken on the soundtrack of the movie as it was a Student production done by Sam Riami and he just stuck any kind of music in it without knowing its source e.g. music playing on radio was filmed in realtime.. and as for the quality it was shot on super 8mm film in the 70's so it bound to be poor.. im glad these guys actually released it B4 it was lost forever THNXS..

I Thank all that understand and respect this release... we released this for hardcore horror/evil dead fans.. which i am ...so it did reach its audience and that was our only intention. it is called a screener because there is nothing else to call a vhs rip.. i got my hands on this vhs... saw no one had released it.. and said hell yeah!! and imediately wanted to get it out there on the scene for evil dead fans like myself... I know that the quality is shit. but its an old dirty dusty vhs tape produced some 20 years ago.. you cant expect dvd.and for all you that say that it didnt need to be released because it will be available on the new dvd. i laugh. because that would be true for all releases for they will all be on dvd. so just get out of the scene and wait for dvds on all movies. i love our release and so do others. it is a collectors item. and somebody needed to get it out there to the peeps.. thats what we did.. so for all you that appreciate this release you get a big THANKS from PTP and we promise to keep you pleased.. for all that didnt oh well we dont care about peeps who lie about having stuff and dont know what they are talking about to begin with. SO much love to all that support the scene and once again THANKS from PTP

I never said that I didn't appreciate the release. I was trying to explain why the video quality is as poor as it is. It's no better or worse than the copy that Tom Sullivan was showing at the Video Wasteland convention a couple of years ago. It's as good as you're going to get for "Within The Woods"

And, for the person who was babbling on about the soundtrack... Joe recorded an entirely new score for the version that was supposed to be released on the "Book of the Dead" DVD. That wasn't the reason they pulled it from the final disc.
