great movie, and a very nice release.

when i watched the Sneak Preview on thursday night, i notices some strange markings during the middle of the movie, about 4 or 5 times, and there are some visible in the sample too.

at about frame 212, 7 seconds into the sample, u'll see red dots that look like

. . .
.
.

when watching this in the theatre, i noticed these a few times and thought maybe new line was implementing some new type of security in the film, sort of like Serial Numbers in screeners, where each copy of the film has a unigue number, or in this case, a unique set of dots.

or maybe i'm being paranoid and am totally wrong

what do you think about it?

oh yeah, i suppose i should rate it.
video: 7, even tho it's clearly cropped on the sides
audio:8
movie:9

Thumbs up

from what i've seen in the sample the quality and audio is very nice, but i seen the movie at the cinema tonight, great movie and worth the download, can't wait for the dvd scr.

First of all, to all of you trampling on Logistic's INTERNAL rls of the movie, maybe you don't deserve to be getting anything anywhere. It's so easy to trash someone elses hard effort so you can enjoy it for free. I'd like to see you risking your freedom to do it. No I don't belong to that group, just respect their efforts!

Now to the feature presentation.

Video....... to much contrast in the movie, fixable somewhat but then you lose the real experience 6

Sound.... not that bad, mono though 5

movie..... ?

6/5/?

I noticed as well when I saw this movie Friday afternoon that it also had markings on the film at certain places, I can't remeber exactly at what point, but the markings i saw were either red or orange and looked like this
. .
. .
.
. .
. .
Or similar to that. Also when I went to see SWAT earlier last week I saw a similar marking on that movie too. I know someone said for SWAT it was a watermark for bootleggers, but is this just a coinsidence, or are they finally implementing the whole tracing method for bootlegged movies??
Ok enough about that, video gets a 7, audio get a 8, and movie gets a 8.
Great movie but coulda had a better storyline...then again we're not going to see it for a good story, just guts, gore, and ass!

Yes I've noticed those DOTS too. They are located in the left upper corner of the screen in frames # 214, 215 and 216 of the sample! Seven seconds into the sample. Based on the way they look and where they are located - it's clear they are meant to be there! Why? I don't know. But it does look like a new security coding made by the studio. What ever it is - I don't like it!
The movie is good: 7.5 / 7.6 / 7.5

This comment doesn't cocern this release, but it does answer the questions about encoding on bootlegs.I work at a movie theater and recently,we recieved a letter from corporate stating that a special encoding would be placed on movies, and a film could be traced back to the movie theater where it was filmed using the code. Also, they said the encoding could still be found/seen in a "computer file",so maybe what you guys are seeing is the special encoding.I have yet to see Freddy vs Jason,so I haven't seen the dots, but when I see it,which will be soon,I'll be on the look out for them.BTW,they offered $100 to any employee that caught someone filming a movie that lead to a police report and police investigation. So yes, movie theaters are working hard to end piracy,it seems.

OMFG....A good old slasher movie like i enjoyed watching as a kid. Freddy vs Jason fight at the end kicks ass.

Video: 7 - The original movie is dark so unfortunatly it cant be better on those releases.

Sound: 7 - Sound is very clear exept for some annoying scratchy noises that happen sometimes in the movie.

Movie: 9 - Im a slasher addicted since the last 20 years so...

Watchable

Definitely watch able......Dark scenes were viewable at least......was crop somewhat but still got most of the action. Movie was funny at spots, man Freddy own.

vid - 6.5

Audio - 5 loud hissing at start, but cleared up after about 30 secs, still was sad....needed adjustments

Movie - 7 plot was predictable but still was cool flix

Better than other release by far

Posted by JiggaLigga on 08-19-2003 05:54 AM:

The dots are in Uptown Girls also. Noticed it on preview night. Also, reason why this release may look sharp is because of how far it's zoomed in. Other then that 6 / 7 / 9 . A screener should follow soon, keep your eyes peeled .

Really washed out video but overall watchable , sound has the usual telesync quality, tiny & lack of bass ,ive heard worse.. movie itself was better that I expected.

6.5/6/8

thought the filck was good . . . didn't know robert englund had so much energy ;-)

video great, sound great

8/7/8

Looks like Im one of the only ones who thinks this movie totally blows....As far as the release goes...well...I do understand that its a dark movie but with that said...the colors are horrid...6.7 The sound...well...if you can get past the first three minutes or so (as stated in the nfo) its not to terrible...I wouldn't say 7 however....possibly low 6..The unfortunate thing about the sound being jacked up in the first three minutes is the fact that those first three minutes are probably the most interesting part of the entire film. And the ending..WTF was that all about...Robert Yu...don't make me send your ass back to film school.. I say leave Jason at the bottom of Crystal lake and let poor Robert Englund hang up the glove in a lone dark props closet somewhere and get on with his career before he's to friggen old to have one!!!!

Those dots are water marks. These dots are on every copy, but diffrent on each one. the dots are to trace the film back to the theater is was played at. It was on a swat release aswell. If you do a search on pircay and movies you will find out that they have been talking of doing this for some time now. These dots when used with the right software will produce the logo and id# of the theater. Dont ask me how i just seen it on some special on Tech-Tv. So TCR maybe loosing out on recording on this spot very soon.
