hmmm, good call on centropy's part
i havent watched the SeVCD version yet, but i hear its ok, and im not going to camp out in front of theaters to see a movie...
but i hope that there'll be a better release after it comes out in theaters
From looking at the samples:
* This looks like a re-encode of the HaF release.
* They cropped it differently so you loose some of the top of the pic (noticable), and a tiny bit at right hand side. The AR is slightly squiffy because of this (not much, but it is)
* They fixed the audio (HaF had dodgy sound - wasn't stereo?)
* It *does not* look as good as the HaF release IMO. (Judging the SEVcD sample against the HaF full film at the same points in the movie)
edit for speeling
SAD WEEK FOR VCD's
I have downloaded FTF/Haf and sev and they all got the same sound problems in the same part of the movie, the video is the same just edited the sharpness and sev cut out the intro because that is when the sound fucks up. I was in the sev vcd channel "flaming" them because they said they recorded the movie themself and asked me wtf do you think? We are lamers? Simple answer yes. This really dissapoints me and other people I have shared the movie with. Btw if you lower your resolution and turn up sharpness and edit the ftf release for about a half hour it looks better than haf's release from what I have experienced. All 3 of these movies i believe are from the same source.
If you dont believe me try this shit yourself, download all 3 movies and try.
defcon
You can do this yourself with TMPGEnc
click on the advanced settings....you can change what it looks like quite a bit...you can definately sharpen the image... remove some of the blue coloring and adjust the brightness / contrast to make it look better as well as fix the audio.... jus takes time and patience...
so, this (none) version so far has the logos and the opening scroll ??? not sure if i could watch a star wars movie without that ...
The sample looked nice quality wise .. i am old school .. I downloaded Titanic many years ago .. a 3 hour movie in 180 MB ... so .. i have seen quality coming up strong ..
it is not a DVD screener ... but this time it seems we only have to wait until November to get the DVD !
i hope to have all the rars together for CD 1 very soon !
and -> i sense much emotion here !!
why are people here bashing each other's heads left and right ??

Never saw any advanced settings in TMPGe..were?..maybe your thinking of VirtualDub?
Hi all.
I'm not satisfied with the quality of my FTF release either, so I'm writing in about TMPGEnc like the people above.
To those who have downloaded the software: What settings did you tweak? Specifically how much? I'd like to get some sort of advance clue before I use the software so I don't waste much time. (FYI: I downloaded the software from http://www.tmpgenc.net/e_main.html) Let me know. If the releases really have come from just one source, then perhaps the same settings should be tweaked for all releases.
Thanks in advance.
listen asshole
You know wat, FTF has the shittiest quality movies out there.. I mean THe SeVCD is good.. So be quiet and know what your talking about before you say it

Burned all 3 samples and watched on my DVD player. None of the samples were really good quality. The FTF and HafVCD source look to be identical. Both of these were filmed from the right side, that gives the screen a trapezoid shape. You can also see the same white dashed line in the upper left corner of each sample's frame and they both have left channel sound only. They are both blurry and blocky but the HafVCD sample seemed a little clearer than the FTF. The SEVcD sample is framed properly but may be cropped. It has dual channel sound that appears to be the same track (mono sound), that is slightly out of sync. The SEVcD video was the most grainy with the most digital blocks that we see occasionally in poor encodes. Since the SEVcD sample had the sound out of sync and looked the most blocky, I'm gonna download the HafVCD version and hope that some other group comes out with a better copy before too long. This movie deserves a better release than any of these groups have provided so far.

hafvcd encode
Are you people blind? This is obviously a reencode of HAFVCD, its the same picture just zoomed and cropped...
I just want better audio?
I mean, come on, that's what those hearing/headphone ports are just BEGGING to be used for. Use them.

This release skips horribly in my dvd player (Samsung M301) ,not sure why everything else runs fine that ive tried (have tons of svcd/vcd),I even tried burning it twice and used differant media ,both burns work fine in my PC tho (?) I havent seen the other releases but the video quality is pretty crappy overall and the audio is a bit distorted.
does anyone else have a deja vu about 54 minutes into CD 1 ??/ seems there is some loop ! probably 2 minutes long !
re-encode or not, this is still the best looking release of ep2 so far in my opinion, i sat through the FTF version, it was kinda like watching pirate japanamation after a few minutes.....then the hafvcd version (only made it through the 1st disc) and it was great quality....
this one is good with out the effort to transcode it with tmpg, and i am certainly not opposed to trying that, but hey...this one is the best of the 4 releases that have come from the NY bootleg!
SEVcD = FTF with color correction and editing
I have seen this mentioned elsewhere, but I will mention it again here. This "new" release is just a reworked FTF version. So far there has been one release, and every other one is just remade by using editing and enhancement techniques.
Anyone with a program like TMPGenc and a little time can redo it and rename it.
I think the people that originally posted it should still get the credit (or blame, if you are lucasfilm) until a new version is released.
I only post this to save you the time of a repeat download.
good enough to watch but i'd wait for an svcd to be released n e day now!
hmm... 4 pages of repetitive information hehe
Oh well.. I expect a DVD screener anyday now. So i'm gonna wait for my DivX with 5.1 hehe
