audio was bad at best, video was slightly better. nothing to write home about, but it is the best release out there.
video 5.1
audio 4.0
movie 6.3

I actually saw this POS movie on opening night at the theater.

I'd not waste a single CDR on it. Everything that is cool in
the movie you saw in the trailer or the fox 10 minute preview
from a few weeks ago.

horrible story line, horrible acting and only a small handful of
cool effects.

Ive downloaded the PROPPER of this release and it has the ending on it... fairly reasonable picture and good audio... looks better on standalone than pc
7/7/8

I really don't know if people watch these releases or just want to post something. This release is watchable the audio is great and in sync but the picture is alot like the old ctp very dark in some places and has the blue tint to it. This release 7/9/6.

I also have the VideoCD's release which is a real proper color and audio is perfect and in sync and if you don't know how to fix cd 1 then just grab the repack and you are fine. The picture and audio of VideoCD's release is that of a good screener in my opinion. It stops like seconds before the credits, someone posted that an important plot sceen was missing but they must have just wanted to post something because it really doesn't do anything but zoom out and show a picture of the earth covered in ice in the last 30-45 sec's thats missing and thats all nothing else. VideoCD is the best group out at this time and I am always on the look out for their releases. VideoCD 9/9/6

Forgot to comment on the quality. I dont know what people are complaining about, this version is completely watchable. video isn't great but its ok, video is perfectly smooth, not jerky like the vcd release from TUN, audio is great, no sync issues and extremely clear, no hissing or static. i dont know where the hollow comments are coming from. I just compared this to their vcd release and the audio in the svcd is a billion times better than the vcd. the vcd one was hissy and hard to hear. And this one is COMPLETE, the ending isn't missing. Videocd's is definitely better videowise but if you must have the best quality, grab videocds, then grab cd2 of this one so you can see the last 3minutes of the movie.

well first off jerk ...I have both versions and I saw it in the theaters..and if you do the math dummy you would stop misleading people with lies of 30-45 seconds..and stop reading videocd's nfo's...there was a hospital scene with the little boy and another helicopter scene before they even got to the panning of the earth. Also a message from the satelitte in space..Almost 4mins missing from the videocd scene. Get your facts straight before you try to sound smart...

He is right, videocd is missing about four minutes of the end. They are not crucial minutes but they do end the story properly.
Videocd has the best quality by far but the missing ending kinda hurts this one. Question? Has anybody noticed that videocd endings have been getting cut more and more? Is this being done on purpose?

Posted by Trenton_1 on 06-03-2004 12:42 PM:

the movie doesn't end properly anyway, but just to clear things up VideoCD's is missing 2mins 35secs, but nothing happens the movie really has no story to it, just good special effects. You can always use Tmpeg to add TUN's ending to VideoCd's version if you want good quality and a complete movie.

Posted by randm on 06-03-2004 11:23 PM:

it depends on what movie you compare the missing amount with...this rls tun-dat2.bin has 3mins 45 sec more footage than the videocd rls vcd-tdatpts2.bin....but at least i ddint have to pay to see it..i am gratefull for that..

Posted by Trenton_1 on 06-05-2004 02:19 PM:

I took Tuns version and went from the end of VideoCd's version where the helicopters were flying over to the ending credits and it was almost 2 mins 35 secs with nothing really important.

should be a nuke, audio alone suports that.
audio - 4
