ok ok ,i hate to break the party up but................

this picture was part of a english sunday tabloid newspaper(several in fact) full page advert(printed on 12/july/2004) asking us english folk to grass up (squeal to the cops for all US & canadian members) people who mass produce pirate dvds ,because they claim that many of the asylum seekers that come to britian end up selling the said discs on the street to to scrape some cash together to survive. also the advert claims that most of the money thats made from piracy goes toward funding drug dealers and people who sell ilegall firearms.

we too laughed our asses off when we saw this in the newspaper yesterday and when we saw the post come up this morning and they way some of you lot fell for it we laughed even harder.

(thank god)we all know that prints like that are the last thing that would end up on any decent downloaders hard drive,let alone being watched by people we deem lucky enough to share in our great knowledge

the british goverment takes great pride in telling us on a regular basis that they are allways taking steps to seek and destroy people who ruin the film industry by taking a cam in to a cinema and having a bit of fun lol
even though any half decent user of this site knows the prints we seen are probably from asia or the united states or australia ,in fact anywhere but the united kingdom

I recognise that pic - it was in The Sun on a anti-piracy ad showing us all that if we get pirated DVD's the quality will be like that (ROFLMAO!!!!) and that we're all funding terrorism. Maybe someone with plenty of money should counter it with a full page ad displaying that pic and also a pic of say a VideoCD TS explaining that without visiting VCDQuality the pic may be crap, so visit VCDQuality to ensure you don't waste your time with shitty releases!

I don't think this will be the last we hear from PIAC, apparently it's a on-going campaign to feature example "pirate" DVDs of other blockbuster movies. I saw on the news last night a version of Spiderman 2 which had someone's head covering the lower quarter of the screen.

FACT made one major fuck up, though, in that they didn't brief the stars of the movie beforehand. So they're trying to ram the message home that "Piracy is a crime and funds terrorism" then Kirsten Dunst is interviewed and says "it's not such a big deal". Classic, bet that went down really well.

(BTW I like the way that the JPG, even though it's supposed to be a dodgy DVD, shows banding typical of a poor VHS copy!)
