Both CD1 and CD2 have weird audio problem, music gets like 60% and the normal dialog gets 40%

Video is great, even in the dark.

video: 8
audio: DTS 9, the way its in this movie, 4
movie: 8

Is there a SVCD release by Imperial? Keep seeing it come up, but I thought Maven had only SVCD release.

By the way is the 'alleged' audio issue just in CD2?

Yes there is. Imperial tagged it as internal though. I've got the release and the quality is average. Video is dark and grainy. Cropped to hell. Audio blows. Typical Imperial release.

It's not "alleged," it's nuke-worthy. And it's on both cd's. CD1 has scenes where the background music is so loud it drowns out the dialogue. I was able to fix it by adjusting my balance all the way to the right, but that's ridiculous. I think maVen was in such a rush to get this out there (which is cool) that they missed a pretty obvious problem, which damages their rep (which is not cool).

Man, I'm tired of these useless posts. This is vcdQUALITY. We review the QUALITY of releases. Apparently, you believe that movie critics who warn us about sucky movies, should STOP reviewing movies, and make movies themselves. Silly.

Any chance maVen will put out a proper ??

Is it just me or should this have been recognized (the audio) before it was released ??

Thanks maVen for the release. In the end, you'll make it right!

people bitching

to the people bitching about people talking about the audio, STFU. This is a review thread, u review the quality of the release.

to maVen, take the time to watch ur releases. If u get beat on the release in that hour and a half or however long, uh well, u can be sure that ur release will be a quality one.

for a TS
8.5/5/8

i watched imperial release and quality is pretty good bit dark not really grainy.. slight crop not bad at all. audio has a part about 2 minutes long where it gets messed up other wise audio is fine.

maVens 9/9/9
iMPERiALs 8/6/9

UNPLUG LEFT SPEAKER

What a concept , then it sounds fine ;p ... just a bit annoying listening via 1 speaker.

I'm glad that there are some fellow members that understand that this is a video/audio review thread and that members shouldn't be judgmental about their critiques. Hence we have the choice to be critical of releases despite the fact that we are enjoying them on the behalf of some hard working crews. I'm sure a lot of their work is distributed with the mindset that it will come under scrutiny. Hence the reason why some groups bust their ass to put out the best quality work inorder to maintain a solid reputation.

At any rate, If there weren't any comments I wouldn't have had the ability to make choice of whether it would be a waste of my time. I obviously have gone off tangent here so I can't be a hypocrite about posts that don't stick to the rules.. All I have to say is thanks for the heads up about the audio.

Posted by ShinBone on 08-09-2004 01:57 AM:

Obviously there was some error with the mixing from DTS to stereo. Only the left channel seems to be afflicted with this weird sound error. If you want to fix this, you can take the audio after demuxing and duplicate the right channel over the left channel with your favorite audio editing software.

Posted by wazzers on 08-09-2004 04:17 AM:

thinking cd1 is a bit off also some of the music just dont seem to fit with whats going on but with audio resampled from the right channel its fine
still like to see a comlplete repack/propper not just cd2 though

Posted by [2k]Daz on 08-09-2004 06:39 AM:

Not bad film

8 for visual
4 for audio (used right channel muted left)
7 for film

Tom Cruise the wallhacker at the end lol

Christ, ur awful generous with the video rating of Imperial's release. But i'll STFU now cause this is the maVen thread, not Imperial.
