Was a bitch to get in. The movie's R and I'm 16. To get around this I just order the tickets online. The machine was down so I had to go to customer service and have the guy print out the tickets. Guy prints it out and won't give the tickets to me and my friend cause we don't have ID cause we're not 17 yet. Hell if my friends start talking loud during a movie I tell them to STFU. Anyway my friend's sister was going to see it at another theater so he called her and we just met up with her. Movie starts at 8:05. We get there at 7:45. She doesn't get there until 8:05. By the time we got it me missed probably about a minute of it.

I guess I see why the mods elected to implement the 'no commentary' rule in these threads. Nonetheless, rules are meant to be ignored apparently .. I'm starting to think that these ratings are far more then subjective based on what I'm seeing here. Some of these comments are characteristic of a vendictive babbling rosy palmed adolescent. I really hope this board stops accepting 'film critic' applications from some of these geniouses that can't tell the difference between their mouth from their asshole.

watched the intire rls last night. the only video issue is in the first few min where the 4 tools walk into the movie late. audio is great one sceen on cd2 is a little quiet but other then that its great dts. movie was not bad, the last 20 min was great

There are actually 2 versions of this movie... The first was dropped by the producers for not being scary enough...so they started over, scrapping the 32 million they spent making it. (the producers plan on releasing that version on dvd later this year...)
IMO, this movie sucks terribly compared to the original. what the hell were they thinking? Between the 2 versions they spent about $90 million; they will never make their money back.
Mavens release: typical Maven quality;6.5/8/3-slightly blurry, good sound, bad movie. Not scary. Just boring. The scariest part is the opening theme (the music) LOL
As for groups releasing Open Water - its a LIMITED release (not WIDE) so it will take longer to get around....

maVen seriously brings it yet Again!!! Man, you guys are just plain Phenomenal. Excellent Quality for Every release! As far as this one goes, the Video is pretty much good! In a couple of spots I noticed some macro-blocks or whatever they are called, but nothing too serious at all. Some parts I thought might have been a little dark but overall, the Video was clear and crisp. Of course you have those Tardy retards coming in late, but nothing major at all. The Audio was near perfect as usual. It really came through on the Home Theater System nicely. The movie itself Rocked as well. Personally, I thought it was done very nicely. I know it's just a movie but Always remember, God is always there for ya. No matter what. Agian THANKS maVen for yet Another Excellent Quality Release. I really appreciate all the Hard Work you guys put in to make these movies happen. You Guys ROCK!!! Looking forward to many more from yall. Thanks

Oakey, just finished watcing this release. As mentioned b4, right at the start of the release 4 people come in and take up the whole screen while sitting down, i'm sure the cameraman felt like slapping them, then shortly after that, some sort of cover is pulled down over the top left of the cam (maybe to hide it?).
The picture isnt one of maven's best releases. Colours are too bright in some places and washed out in others, and in the dark scenes u can actually see the reflection of the camera lens in the middle of the screen.
Sound is perfect as usual.

Vid - 7
Aud - 10
Mov - 5 - It was a reasonable story line, but bits of it have been done before in other films, didnt seem like a horror at all, more like a weird thriller!, laughable in parts.

People walking in front of the camera should be noted in the forums...this forum is about the quality of the release and imo that plays a big factor in how the quality should be rated.

even though i still appreciate the release even if there are people back and forth throughout the movie.

Not about your opinion on the moive and the best part is when this happens. You guys give away the movie, don't do that. That is not cool.
