Is anyone having any trouble burning this to cdr to play on a standalone player? It plays fine on the puter but for some reason when I burn it with Nero it wont play on the standalone.

I 2 have a problem... I even tried using vcdgear, it stops at 6%... WEIRD

I'm not quite sure what you people want out of a Telesync?

The pic is a little blurry in fast action scenes, but you can overlook stuff like that for quality like this! maVen is THE group of the scene.

8/8/8.5

When one falls, another rises to take their place...

Well as it turns out I had a hardware\software problem that was jacking up my burner (wasted 8 cd's before I figured it out) any-who, I got the darn thing fixed and it burned without any problems.

As for the movie. As usual another great release by MaVen. Your releases are by far the best out there.
Keep up the good work.

Video is a little fuzzy\dark at times.
Audio is great
Movie is ok.

I'm surprised there is such high praise for the video. I thought AVP and Resident Evil 2 looked far better than this. This is still good, obviously, but grainy with so-so colors. Sound is great, wasn't low for me at all, although the explosions lacked some punch.

The movie could have been great with a retro Flash Gordon/The Mummy comic-booky type feel to it, but everyone just goes through the motions and ALL the characters are hollow and don't show any personality at all other than the sidekick Derek(?) guy a little.

And the chick... is the audience supposed to like her? She shows in the first scenes how dumb she is, then she shows how she's only out for herself and lies to the guy all the time, and then later she tags along and is a big pain in the ass and is only good for getting them into trouble constantly. And who didn't see the blatant Wizard of OZ foreshadowing and "one picture left" stuff coming? bleh. Who made this crap?

7/9/5 I would have given it a 4, but giant robots are cool.

video - 9. excellent quality

audio - 6. somewhat low volume...why is it nearly always low? Cellular-fbC had excellent volume level, it was a real exception. on most other TS releases volume is low. I think this should be part of our rating, because if you use some DX plugin to increase the volume by even 10-15 decibel, the overall quality of audio decreases dramatically. And it's not much different if you simply increase the volume on your tv/headphones or whatever.

movie itself - 4. It's funny at times, I gotta admit that, but it's incredibly stupid. Like when they are talking about WW I. hello?!! this movie takes place before the outbreak of WWII, so there was only ONE WW at that time! What's the purpose then of giving it a number? Bunch of idiots

Plus once again the germans are the evil guys. It may have been justified at the time when such comics which this movie alludes to were popular, but today Germany ain't the evil guy any longer. Hollywood is SO out of touch with modern times...

The whole script would fit on the side of a matchbox. If you ask me what this movie is about...I have no idea, it's mostly about the special effects (which are nothing spectacular, btw).

The scene where the main protagonists are hunted by the prehistoric bird is stolen from Jurassic Park 3. And the scene where the guy hits the girl in the end so that she wouldn't follow him is stolen from Demolition Man. Hollywood is boring, copies itself all over again for the 1000th time.

Oh, forgot to mention, thanx to Maven for translating the french subtitle into english. the one about nipples

Most stuff from DTS is lower ive noticed, i think Maven just encode it as it is, you can increase the volume when your encoding the sound but that affects quality as you've said.

Dont think volume should be affecting the rating, we should be well chuffed that we're getting TS's with Dolby Surround sound anyway.

As for this, nice quality, movie looks trippy.

8/8/?

well since its a pal copy when i encode with canopus 1.5 i make sure i put the volume audio filter to the max and when i play it in my dvd player its just like watching a regular dvd with surround sound thanxx maven.

I agree. maVen clearly cares about the quality of their releases. If it's maVen I rarely read comments for some clue about quality, cuz I already know maVen is as good as I need. Can't get a mature, decent or sane comment on quality out of these forums anyway, most of the time.
