can anyone tell if the cam.movie and TS.videocd version are the same?

I already saw the cam of this (MOViE I believe?) so I'm not going to bother getting this one, but I can tell you that the cam is exactly the same as the one being played in theatres in the U.S. right now. I imagine since this came out so late that the source is in the U.S., so it's likely that both versions are the same. But all I can say for sure is cam = U.S. theatrical version

POSSIBLE SPOILERS i guess...

my friend watched the CAM when it first came out, and i watched it at the theatre opening night.

in the theatre when the doctor goes to saw his foot off, we see him make 2 or 3 passes of the blade, as his skin starts to cut and bleed. the camera then cuts out to show the doctor's upper body, with his arm furiously going back and forth as he's screaming. my friend told me in the CAM, that you see the blade go in at least an inch and almost to bone before it cuts out.

and seeing as how the cam came out like 3 weeks before us theatres, i would assume it'd be the uncut UK version. wether or not it's missing scenes/incomplete is another story, but i be it's uncut.

oh, and yes i did get the sample of this movie, so that this post is following the rules heh.

8/7/10

Now wouldnt this have been better with the audio at the end ? some say not.some would prefer it missing.blx to that there is no problem in adding the last min & 1/2 from the audio of the other rls. - End rant.
From sample - 8 / 8 / 10 . This is 1 film there is no point ever watching again if you have sen it.Fantastic ending !

Posted by resetman on 11-03-2004 10:33 PM:

ok so this is nuked for missing what you say is a minute and a half of audio at the end.....well according to what i have it is missing exactly 36 seconds of audio and that does include the 4 seconds of credits at the end......getting a little piciyune are we
over all video quality is good worth at least a 7.5
audio quality is at least an 8
as for movie when i find time to actually sit down and watch it i will maybe give a rating on it
all i can say is at least it isn't a came with people screaming or coughing or talking through the movie

Posted by ThePredator on 11-03-2004 10:47 PM:

Some people are adding the CAM-MOViE Ending to make it ok i suppose thats a idea

Posted by vip3r on 11-04-2004 02:15 AM:

Release isn't bad..i don't agree with all the ratings here though. The movie had a lot of potential..the acting was kinda crappy, movie wasn't the least bit scary, and it took place in about one spot the entire movie .. (almost like Phone Booth, but not as good). Quality on this is pretty good, not VideoCD's best..but surely better than the previous release (cam) which was quite good if i may say so myself.

7.5/7.5/7

ok I apologize for my previous post about why post only on samples i just think it is unecessary but that is my opionin, and yes for the review of the actual movie i do go to imdb i was just trying to make a point that a sample is nothing to rate it by because anything (like 2 hrs) that isnt from the sample can happen, like camera adjustment sound problem glitch or whatever anyway whatever i am just a dumb newb on here

[EDIT:: I agree to a point, but those mistakes like that are pointed out quickly enough anyway (normally 3 or 4 hours after being listed) when the first lot of movie addicts have seen the full release. Commenting on the samples gets info regarding the picture/audio on here quicker. I hope that clarifies things a bit better - Neversoft]

Thanks videocd for the release. Just got through watching it all. Movie is real dark in spots. Acting wasn't that great but the story was really cool....with that twist at the end that everybody likes(thats all I am going to say)

Video 7 (not videocd's best effort)
Audio 9
Movie 8 (worth watching)

last 30 secs or so theres no sound but it doesn't ruin the movie!!

Posted by The-13-Monkey on 11-04-2004 06:27 AM:

Nothing is said so sound really isnt needed. I say unnuke the release cause a repack for gameover is lame !@!

Posted by PMAtreides on 11-04-2004 06:55 AM:

Angry just wish..

the groups would check their shyt before putting it out -- that's all ... should be nuked, and repacked ....

Posted by Panthro on 11-04-2004 08:23 AM:

8/9 ..Movie was def off the meat rack and I have the cam version also.there is only about 30 or so secs missing..really not much Dialog missing...Im sure anyone with a little brain can get the just of it

Posted by bcool2k on 11-04-2004 08:25 AM:

FYI: A proper is out by SG-18 NOW but currently NUKED on most sites...
NUKED: Saw.SVCD.PROPER.TELESYNC-SG18
Reason: re-encode.of.VideoCD..

Only problem is if U download the last .rar file and rename the extension to .mpg the whole ending screams and dialogue is all there. If this was a simple re-encode then the audio would still be missing correct??

Based on Sample and Final Rar:

7.5/8/9

Please feel free to edit this post or move it, but i felt it was appropriate to this much debated topic about the NUKED VideoCD release

NUKED or NOT it has the ending so I've got mine

Posted by jwrobo on 11-04-2004 11:29 AM:

30 seconds is all thats missing and it doesn't spoil the film. Usual good picture & audio from videocd, especially as its a dark film.

7.5/8/7

how do u add the cam ending ???

Posted by o0RaidR0o on 11-04-2004 02:48 PM:

Ok I applaud VideoCD and there work, however since this release is PAL I haveta convert it to NTSC, no problem there usually, I say usually, because if you notice there is cliche in the sound a kinda popping, in the scene when the girl with the jaw trap is standing over the other victim who has the key in his stomach.

By itself this wouldn't be a problem, however when I try to re-encode to NTSC that very cliche freezes the vid at that point.

I usually can take cd1&cd2 re-encode using KVCD templates through TMPGEnc and make a single cd without any real loss and watch on my home theatre.

But I can't even do a regular pal2ntsc.

Has anyone gotten a chance to review the sg18 release yet?

PEACE!

SG18 release is stolen from videocd with audio ending fix

Posted by Schmiggy JK23 on 11-04-2004 06:27 PM:

Any one know the time stamp to insert the fixed audio/video into the original mpg?

Trying not to spoil too much of the movie at the end when i fix it, before i watch it.

1:14:14 is the run time of disc 2. The new data is 1:20 long.

at what point do in set tmpgenc to do the merge and cut of the main video, to insert the new data?

at 1:12:54 ?

Shouldnt they have repacked this? Im no super wize at encoding, but im sure people would have a hard time doing a real fix of this.

I know this is really random, but if you listen closely, you can hear talking and a baby crying at 25:37 on CD2. I was watching this on pc and had headphones plugged in so i could turn it up nice and loud. At that point i thought i heard talking so i paused it to see if it was people outside (its 1.30am at this time) and there wasnt.. so i resumed and could hear the voices again. so i turned it up a bit louder and noticed it was on the video. Couldnt hear what was being said or anything, but eh. Just a little thing i thought i'd point out :P

Video 7
Audio 7
Movie 8

I thought the movie was pretty good!

My copy was missing nearly 40 minutes of audio on cd2. No CRC errors on cd1 though. Just me or anyone else?
