twc

excellent release, keep'em coming!
classic example of good encoding. nice to see TWC and THC back in the scene. maybe we'll start getting some good releases again. great audio and excellent video, especially for being a dark movie,(no blue).

you ppl that bitch at everyone who bitch do just the same thing!!! I just heard some ppl say this is not a telecine and they are right, twciso SHOULD learn to lable right, they mislabeled Lilo & Stitch and they do it again here, this is a workprint or screener and no telecine! They also mislabeled there dvdrip from The Others but at least there they brought a nfo fix! It's not that its for free that you should take everything how it comes and that you should always be satisfied!

DarkBeatz, TWC are always mislabling, guess you could say its their MO

OMG!! I just finished watching this flick and IMO it's the best movie I've seen all year. 5 out of 5 stars in my book. Simply awesome.

Don't miss it.

it's not bad...you get used to the black bars...overall i'd give it a 8 for the pre...quality isn't bad...7.5

Angry

First of all, GREAT JOB on this release. So early, and quality good enough that that nothing is lost on the movie. Damn fine job, if you ask me.

Second, screw all you backseat lamers who criticize other people's work. If you dont like it, stay away from it and dont waste your time here. This release is far ahead of the pack with respect to time and quality. Men in Black II was out early, but the quality wasnt there. This release is worthy.

Dont waste your time, trying to show your big brains talking about workprints and shit. Dont download it then.

If you cant supply better, than enjoy the fine work from TWCiSO. TWC deserves better than some of the lamers give here are worth. Fine Job!

telesync.....eh....?

seen the sample... pic looks ok.... but the sound sucks....

imma still dl it cause its free....

Posted by zcar on 07-17-2002 09:43 AM:

i just watched disc 0ne
yes it is strictly speaking a workprint, however its always worth grabbing this as it is an unfinished version and perhaps the finished print might have subtle changes and character nuances this doesnt have!
pic is ok, a bit blurry perhaps way better than the average ts. The film itself is a good story and well worth watching, not in my top 10 films ever but certainly worthy of a download. Thanks to twciso for the release, mislabelled or not!
One last point though, why the hell is this a svcd, its short enough for vcd and the res would have been the same.
Over and out

Just cought the sample!!!

I just saw the sample and I thought it is a great release would be better without the black bars and without the do not copy sign. But I just was wondering remember when the rookie came out and there was a pretty good release like this one it had the same red bar that crossed the screen every now and then but the movie was great only one flaw it had no music only voice and regular sounds is this release the same cuz I could catch any background music in the sample???

Posted by olympiakos on 07-17-2002 12:18 PM:

i heard its good quality...
im downloading it already

Ok, i dont have this release and i am curious as to why people think its a workprint. If anybody would care to elaborate a little if would be quite helpful.

omen its cause of the obvious breaks inbetween cutting scenes near the end on disc 2, ie the part where the child is in need of his ventalin.

Over all, what a great film, It took me a while to get used to the pic after it zooms in slightly on disc 1 to get rid of the do not duplicate, the red strokes arnt annoying, pic is nice and clear, and some scenes its obvious that its a work as they havent amplified sound from people speaking, the film its self is filmed well and very spooky with out the need for major special effects, well worth watching, this I would go see in a theater to get the full experiance

Movie was very nice quality, sound was fine. Black bars at top are very easy to get used to and did not affect my viewing at all. I wonder why they moved the bar up to take out the words "Do Not Duplicate" at the bottom, yet kept the black bars at the top...they may have been able to just lower the top, since the black bars ran across 75% of the top of the screen anyway...but either way, they did a great job on this. I think there is something missing between discs 1 and 2, and also near the end in a couple spots there are some short parts missing, which I won't get into to spoil the show for those who haven't seen it.

I would rate the quality a 7 video and 7 sound...I believe 8 is for perfect VHS screeners and 9 or 10 is for DVD quality screeners. This is just below a VHS screener, and with the blocks above it loses a half rating point.

As far as the show, it was another disappointment from M. Night, who seems to believe that a big ending can make up for a sub-par show. It worked in The Sixth Sense, because that was a great show from beginning to end. Unbreakable was slow, but ended nicely. Here, however, the end was not enough to save it. I give it a 5 only because Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix were outstanding.

How do you know its missing music?, i scoped trough it and i heard music. Maybe Manoj Nelliyattu didnt want so mutch music?
I think movies are alot creepier when there isnt much music.

Posted by Vamp|re on 07-17-2002 05:06 PM:

wtf is that red line that goes accross the screen? I thought it was a scene change marker but ot doesent make sense when it goes accross. What is it?

The quality is real good audio is ok video is ok dont see no reason to rls another copy of this and the reason they have the black bars at the time isent for timers its for serial numbers that are on the movie if those were to be displayed companies would know where this was taken from. They really dont bother much hardly noticible my tv is 27 in and you forget they are there after a while.

The movie is pretty good. Not the sci-fi you would think it is more of a thriller. Worth getting.

Another Rls

Well yes this rls is good but its a WP and after seeing it, I would prefer a copy thats not a work print, cause the ending of the movie didnt really go well IMO as an ending, too many question inbetween the movie and the ending to me wasnt fitting, so I'd like to see another rls just to see if anything was missing, like Holloween rls.

Video: 7
Audio: 7
Movie: 8
