hmm, just read the article...sad that these people give away such information, I presume they got paid for it though. It's quite funny that the information still isn't 100% accurate despite the fact they interviewed 3 people. As for MaTinE they probably would have been better off not making this nfo...it's just brought more attention their way. This Frank guy does seem like quite a bullshitter

Posted by LOLobo on 12-29-2004 09:22 PM:

They mention the Hulk workprint being compressed from 9 GB to a single CD, released by SMF.

SMF's release was 2 CDs not one.

The scene has enuff to deal with at the moment without shit like this comming out!! Whatever their role, matine has gotta go. The info divulged may not be super secret but it sure as hell didn't need to become common knowledge. Matine should be nuked as a scene group for this stunt. /rant

The hulk workprint was available on kazaa first, by some guy who got it from his friend.... huge article on it.. His friend worked for advertising company, that was doing the stuff for movie company, forget which, that was releases hulk... As a result, the advertising company get a promotional tape, and this guy leaked it to his friend... His friend then put it up on kazaa and got his ass busted.. LOL matine had nothing to do with that...But regardless, to do such an interview and disclose such volatile information is stupid.. way to go group... im sure you'll be nuked and banned from lots of sites for this fiascal.

Internet... definied as connection to information stored on database.. Email... sent to a person, requiring a username / password to check i most cases.. webpage, the place you log on to get the email... Does this clarify it or do i need to buy you some common sense to understand only a group member would have access to this?

Edit this for flaming, but i deserve this one, how moronic can some guys response be to the most logical of posts!!

:: Easy there, fellas. -K::

dude, i think the best thing for you to do is to type out your shit in Microsoft Word, grammar check + spell check, then maybe just MAYBE you should post it here. How could I understand what you tried to say when you have commas in the wrong places and the paragraph was so choppy that i had to literally read out loud.

and to be straight out with you, your shit don't make sense.
la times requested an interview, they could have sent it to all the groups via email. they get the email from the nfos. matine check and refused the interview. la times could have mentioned something about the wired interview. the possiblities are numerous but yours is from what i could understand (and not much) is farfetched and should be ridiculed.

hmmm... rapped... always thought these guys had more brains and would be able to spell "RAPED", or maybe there were talking about rappers, like the music type

Here is the link to the story:

That’s a very cut down version of the actual article. That’s funny though because LooSeLips(Mat)ine isn’t mentioned anywhere. Then again the actual physical printed mag version is as I said before—page 155-159—So obviously its more than a few paragraphs unlike the version printed on wired’s actual site.

Just finished reading this article. What a moron. He was prolly denied axs when he stumbled across that topsites name. And since he couldn't cut it in the scene, he's gotta get pr0pz for his l337 self somewhere else.

"Hmmm... I know. Why don't I just call up this tech-rag and tell them I have some uber info that goes to the top of the underground movie scene, drop a few names on them, and bada-bing-bada-boom, I'm important!" -Frank

Defianitly seems skripted.. Well I noticed it more in pt2. Seening how he had the NFO on his desktop the whole time. I figure it to be a little Audio/Video Major from NYU.

This is a PR trip guys. Have a look over here: http://junentertainment.com/ who created 'The Scene' downloadable TV show, Forest is one of the Principals.

From Wired article: "in fact, Forest believes the scene will eventually go legit, and he's even started a company, called Jun Group, that uses the topsites to promote movies, musicians, and TV shows."

Its alright alcatraz, the 3 people that quoated me understood me just fine. It's over your head, we will leave it at that... You simply do not get it, and I am not wanting to get banned explaining it to you.... stupid fucking kids... Anyhow, its said and done, and the article is out, this grouped blew it, and now i hope they are delusered off every site they pre from... Possibilities they didnt slim to none... They might have emailed every group, but as i said, which some slow people are to stupid to decipher, I highly doubt someone is going to pose as matine and do an interview.. this group is not the biggest name, and mostly does sub par work.. no one cares about them... So i doubt they got enemies. They did it, they got the email, now someone is covering their own ass... what more to be said.

Thanks satanwantsme, but I think the link to the wired article has already been posted but if there is something missing from the online article I read I stand corrected. I know little about all the stuff going on behind the scenes, but as to what was told in the article it seems like old news. Even a dullard like me knows the majority of the things mentioned in this article. But if it can be confirmed that someone in Matine gave out this info or gave an interview, sure boot there asses out; scene ban or whatever. This Bruce Forest idiot from junentertainment.com , the self-described "elder-statesman" in the piracy scene as the article reads, sounds like a freakin wanna-be. He says in the interview that he's a double agent. Another word for a SNITCH. A Rat to all of us in here. Like I said, I'm a newbie, but I know that if I use google I can find that Jun Entertainment lists Bruce forest as a "principal." If I look on their site I can see that the site lists NBC enterprises as one of it's clients. NBC is 80% owned by General Electric and 20% owned by Vivendi Universal. Vivendi Universal game labels include Blizzard Entertainment (warcraft series), Fox Interactive (Aliens vs. Predator) and of course Sierra Entertainment (Half-life + NOLF). And GE lists UNIVERSAL Pictures as it's film division. In the article Bruce says in referance to the whole HULK release incident "Here's what actually happened: Universal gave the workprint to its Manhattan ad agency. Then the print got to SMF. And bam!" SMF, Forest explains, is a piracy group that specializes in acquiring movies in theatrical release. So was bruce inpart responsible for turning in people in the scene by helping the cops/studio track down those responsible? Maybe he knows, cause I don't.
Now why am I talking about all this crap? I was wondering because in the article from WIRED it says "As a consultant for one of the world's largest entertainment companies, Forest notifies his bosses whenever one of their movies appears on a topsite. " Bruce states "Basically, I'm a double agent," he concedes. "Though I don't fink anyone out. I'm not a cop." GIVE ME A BREAK. So he's a good guy that tells his employers when a movie/game is released but a bad "elder statesman in the piracy community" by NOT telling his employers where that movie came from, who released and where they can find these guys who did the pirating (YARRRR). This guys screaming for attention so much it hurts. But hes in the wrong scene to be drawing attention. I might be playing comspiracy theororist but maybe there is some knod of connection, maybe there is not. Peace

No need to upload it anywhere, it's clearly posted on Wired's website. Wow, after reading that article, that Frank guy really is a stupid idiot. Way to give up your group name, and be a sitting duck for the next round of busts ... but after reading the article, I think Frank has already been busted and well ... he's turned States' Witness.

Oh well ... another stupid f*cker in the scene ... another scene ban coming ... much overdue for MaTinE, they've been producing quality crap for ages now, they are very shady and risk a lot, the scene won't miss them, at all.

/end rant
