Hal with their album of the same name is currently top of my cd pile at the moment. They are a Dublin band with huge west coast influences. I reckon they are going to make a huge spalsh worldwide

Breaking Benjamin. They are gettin to be more known but they put on one hell of a live show.

Alabama3. If you know em, then enough said. Crazy mofos.
Candiria. Really good to get stoned with.
Dave Grohl's "Probot". Everyone knows Dave Grohl but I don't know if anyones heard his solo/guest album. Its good.
jacks mannequin- in transit
BT-This Binary Universe (Amazing)
I love the CD itself, but the 5.1 DVD with the animated shorts is where it really shines.
It's disheartening to see a-lot of his fans turned off by this album because it's such a drastic change. It seems like this album is going by unnoticed, which is a shame. I think this is the best work of his career. I can't think of anything that's quite like it. Sure, it isn't ESCM, but who says that's a bad thing?
I just hope he has picked up at least as many fans as he's lost.
bumped from the dead... well, to answer a question i never saw, fav ska and punk bands would be:
The Invaders
The Aquabats
Millencolin
Bad Religion
Bosstones
Dexy's Midnight Runners
Rancid
and newer cd's that i love....
um...
MC Chris - Dungeon Master of Ceremonies
....
um...
Beastie Boys - Dr. Numbers mix....
thats about it for new music, at least something unheard of... been listening to a lot of NPR lately, and some podcasts (infected, infoworld)....
