Yes it was dark but you can deal with it.
The intro was lame as hell.
Sound was perfect.

The movie wasn't that bad. Don't know why people are bashing it. It has a Wrong Turn feel about it. Not great but not bad.

For a TS...
Vid 8 (not much you can do here)
Sound 9 (can't get much better)
Movie 7 (I like movies like this)

Video quality is good, as far as sound I'm not sure because the player that I'm viewing the files with distorts the audio. Not much better than the other releases as far as quality. Still pretty dark.

7 or 8/?/7

Honestly one of the worst ctp movies ever...

Video is so dark that the 2nd disk (which takes place outside @ night and inside dark buildings) you cant see more then 50% of the movie... Its just a darkish blur... you miss some really important stuff that helps you understand why she is running around in the woods, then dark for about 2 min. then she is running around in a underground lair?!

on the other hand sound is just a touch off on disk one, and you cannot see detail in disk 2 so i cant tell...

over all i have seen better from the CTP... I almost blew my speakers again with that intro... Thanks Centropy

House.Of.Wax.SVCD.TS-Centropy

not one of ctps best releases the 8+ for vid in my opinion is a bit high for this the vid is very grainy in parts cant fault the darkness cause its a dark movie the sound is spot on i wont flame the release cause in these times of fewer releases every week anything watchable is greatly appreciated and i respect all the groups for the huge risks they take in bringing us movies
video 6 grainy
audio 8 pretty good
movie 6 reminded me a bit of texas chainsaw massacre but not as good
effort in bringing this to us 10+ thnx guys

RESPECT THESE GRPS GUYS IF YA CANT SAY ANYTHING NICE DONT SAY ANYTHING AT ALL

if anyone reads this far
i watched this release
i am a ctp fan
there are points in the movie where you can't tell what's happening for 5-10 minutes because it is too dark

i wish someone had written above earlier
this site isn't very reliable, from what i read here

v 5.5

this is my first post on VCDQ, <---- best site for leak info imo
anyway:
video: 6 ~ pretty good, ALOT better than the cam i got 2 days ago
audio: 8 ~ nothin wrong with it, great on my tv speakers!
movie: 8 ~ what can I say, I like these borderline B movies

Posted by vcdman on 05-14-2005 02:51 AM:

Video:5- alot of reddish pixels mixed in with the blacks.. distracts too much especially the dark scenes...when it goes dark it goes DARK.. you can't see the movie at all at times...so so quality during the day..colors are abit dull and has a slight blur to picture(reminds me of watching an old vhs tape)...this quality of movie is not what CENTROPY was known for

Audio:8- in sync but volume level if encoded at dolby AC 3/2 needs to be turned up quite abit..might want to consider LPCM

Movie:5- probably would have been higher if i could enjoyed watching all the way through...this rating is for 1/2 of the movie

Posted by CATBOX on 05-14-2005 04:39 AM:

Yes, the movie is dark. Centropy's copy is darker. Even during the outside day scenes the contrast is way high. You can't see things that aren't in direct sunlight. Even after boosting the brightness, its still not that great. The dark scenes add up to about 30 minutes of the movie that you can't see whats going on. Good AR with no heads in the way. Other than being dark, its good audio, and the movie was actually cool. I was surprised, but it had a decent storyline, and some good gore!

6 - what good is it if you can't see whats going on all the time?
9 - nice sound
9 -almost a ten, but you didn't see elisha's boobs, LOL.

Just finished watching this release using TV-out on my 29" TV and it was very dark in some parts of the movie and adjusting the brightness or contrast only helped it a little bit. In the scenes that were not dark it was nice, but you could tell they have adjusted the brightness and contrast already during the encode and did a good job getting it to where it is.
The audio was perfect!
As for the movie it was not that good.

Video 7-8 (5-6 in dark scenes)
Audio 10
Movie 6

All together this was just a cheesy horrow movie and had its moments, I personally liked the Charger in it

Hey I might get banned for this post but.....
does anyone think we will get round the new dts encryption in the near future???......this will mean a lot to the ts scene at least.

Hi everyone,

This deffinately doesn't hold up the standard that Centropy was noted for, it was that standard that lead them to first use that intro on their 2002 Spiderman release, while everyone else was... lets say, "on the down low" , due to a series of unfortunate events that year, hence the theme and content of the intro, (note the HP title).
Whoever wrote this was an older intro is correct except they were actually doing both VCD's and SVCD's, remember the SVCD standard was relatively new.

HypoLuxa, on their very next release, after they used this intro, they used the 64 start up screen, it was very funny, considering. For the life of me I can't remember what that release was though.

The thing is it looks like they had to download this intro off a TMD site, lol, it's no where near it's original quality, if anyone has the first Spiderman release by them in their archive dig it out and you'll see how good it use to look.

As for this release I must say this is only slightly better than the cams in the dark scenes, but overly contrasted in the daylight scenes, the one thing it has going for it is that the source was good enough to encode to SVCD resolution.

As for a TC of this I'm with XAVeRY, not sure how it would look, certainly not a Russian TUN TC, that just wouldn't cut it.

HaLiKuS, I feel this was far better than High Tension as to keeping the plot, HT's plot falls apart at the Gas Station if you think about it, ( not a spoiler).

vid - 5 ( almost hard to believe Centropy even did this kind of work)
aud - 8
mov - 8

edit > hey CATBOX, hi , been a long time,

Centropy = good quality !

Centropy as usual was late a couple of days, but the quality is by far better than other releases.
Great job Centropy ! You always had the best releases !
