No doubt this is simply nice...if I could find a way to make 16:9 it would look great. But I haven't found a way since its in ISO format...

7/9/?

I have the .iso, and I burned it in Nero, but it's completely out of sync. Should I burn it another way? Other than being so out of sync that it's unwatchable for me it's:

7/1(out of sync)/? haven't watched more than the first 5 minutes.

Posted by Hanin on 05-19-2005 07:51 AM:

yes... there's the counters... and the ar is slightly off... but the ar can be fixed.... the video is clean enough... and it's out now.... so that's it

8/8/?

having seen the entire thing now... it is overly pixelated in high action scenes... it's way undersized for a dvdr leaving you thinking why they didn't make it a full size and up the bitrate..... still... it is quite watchable and the content of the movie is very good considering EP1 & 2 blew goats....

7/7/9

Nice release and props to VISA wit da quick release. Hope to see future pre's from this group...prob the reason for the nuke is due to all the dunno answers on nfo...not that the bars helped any.

8/8/? (still watching)

If you watch the first few seconds it flashes a few screens that say something along the lines of color timing. Which leads me to believe that this is the finished cut, effects and all. Films aren't usually color timed until they are about to stirike the prints for projection. The AR is definitely stretched. It appears to be a basic 16:9 (1:85) aspect ratio stretched to fit a 4:3 frame. Which leads me to believe whoever encoded this played a raw 16:9 video source (Hmmm...DVD, DV Tape maybe) into a device (recorder or PC) that had a basic 4:3 setting. Sooo... my conclusion is that some schmuck got ahold of this made a quick dump of it and put it back where he/she got it. Well whoever worked to color correct the movie is gonna have lucasfilm breathing down they're neck. The 4:3 to 1:85 is an easy fix. Still I cant wait for a proper AR. 1:85 is not too bad but I may hold out for a proper 2:35 Telecine at least.

someone in some ad agency or something is gonna have a very very very bad fucking day in the morning. When lucasfilm find a leak of this quality has happened heads r gonna roll and it aint gonna be cuz yodas choppin em off either.

Gotta give props to the iron balls on the guy who ripped this

as for the movie i saw it tuesday and i thought it rawked

as for this rls dunno yet i'm still encoding it to the proper aspect ratio from the sample i made as a source and pre theatre id give it a solid 10/10 you couldnt wish for a better source for a movie

I watched this movie at 12:01AM, was surprised to see it available when I came home (I didn't check before I left).

Judging from the sample 8/8/10.

It's not perfect, but props should be given for getting this out there so quickly.

Plus the AR issues are easy to fix.

This was a great movie, easily better than I & II, and perhaps better than some of the originals.

Use ifoedit.. u can force title menu to be 16:9. Save the IFO and bup file to another place other than folder.. copy and paste them to replace the files in the folder ( as you know this means you had to extract the video_TS folder.. .. i used winrar to get VTS files)... anyhow once u do the above, simply burn movie and on most dvd players and on ur pc ull have 16:9 AR and itll look crisp.. very nice.. except for timers.....

Posted by thebra1n on 05-19-2005 11:03 AM:

pick pick pick

all looks fine to me plays in ws on my tv

video 8 would be 9 but for the time code
audio 8

why whine about the little things, would you have prefered a shitty cam or this pfffffffff

Posted by Moonie on 05-19-2005 11:14 AM:

here's how you can fix the ar with ifoedit:

Click “Open” and browse to the “VIDEO_TS” folder and load “VTS_01_0.IFO” when loaded, in the top window, click on “VTSI_MAT” then in the bottom window, double click on “0000200” a pop-up window will appear where you can change the Aspect Ratio, you should also tick “Automatic Letterboxed”
(Just open each IFO, find any reference to 4:3, and change it to 16:9. You should also select 'Automatic Letterboxed' too. Make sure you save each IFO when your finished.)

8/8/9

did the above ... looks real nice on the 21" monitor .. even though it's MPEG1 .. very good considering .. sound isn't too bad, although it's only stereo. Bass rattles a little too much for my liking, but will DEFINATELY do until a 5.1 TC (hint, hint SAOSIN ) or even DVDR is posted .. *cough .. SAOSIN .. do it NTSC for this one -end-cough* lol

The biggest issue I had with this; some of the scenes were repeated (10-15 second parts) .. like the movie would be playing smooth, then suddenly it would repeat a small piece of it .. I thought I was losing it, I thought PowerDVD went nuts .. but it only did it 3 or 4 times throughout the entire duration of the movie ..

Overall rating:

Video: 6 / 10 - (loses marks for initial AR issue / MPEG1 blockiness / huge timers / random repeating; original video source was probably nice to look at.)

Audio 7 / 10 - (loses marks as it's not a digital source to start with, heavy bass-clipping during certain scenes; not that bad considering the source was most likely a video-tape)

Movie 9 / 10 - I was pleasently surprised .. that's all I will say about that

DVD-R 1 / 10 - (lost most marks because this didn't need to be a DVDR in my honest opinion).

Release 10 / 10 - getting it 4 hours before the premiere is NOTHING to cry about ..

Cheers all ..
