Well i followed these instructions and i still can't get in. Whatever server i connect to just doesn't ident me.

Ok, when you connect to the server, do a whois on your nickname

Like so:

/whois MYNICKNAME

It'll return something like:

Dwaggy ~[email protected] * Dwaggy
Dwaggy on @#suicidebombers
Dwaggy using irc.easynews.com hilarious tagline
Dwaggy End of /WHOIS list.

see that ~ at the start of your ip adress? That means your identd is NOT working and it is probably because you have port 113 blocked and possibly because you are wearing a dress.

But if it is missing then you are free to join ( /join #vcdquality PASSWORD ) and participate in our politically correct jokes, discussions about the daily "Garfield" comic strip and nightly pray sessions

In light of this my friend would like to know if there will be an armistice at some point on vcdquality irc channel allowing banned ppl back in.
He would like to keep up with the details of Mr Grinches present STD's. and how many fish Dwaggy has caught.
If the banned ppl upset the admins again Dwaggy can simply ban them again this will no doubt pander to the aforesaid Dwaggy's delusions of superiority.

Hello, I have a problem. I read the whole thread, but I still can't get to join the channel.

I followed all the instructions here and on portforward.com and I also forwarded the port on the XP SP2's firewall. I still get the '~' before my name.

So my Ident isn't enabled. Can someone help me please?

Turn off XP firewall and get something proper.

Like Kerio or Sygate.

Use GRC.com to check if port 113 is open on your firewall, if it is... Check your options in mIRC.
