I've heard that Apocalypto is gory, It was just the hype, It wasn't. It was a very good story, I will say this though it was a bit tough to watch because it was VERY brutal.

I would say it's in my top 10 for sure,

So far I can honestly say

1. Pan's Labrynth - This movie isn't being knocked from #1. This movie was pure fucking great.

2. Blood Diamond - Very emotional, Set the mood of the movie very early, Kept me on the edge of my seat. Very well played.

3. Apocalypto - read above

4. Children of Men - I have now seen it twice, The long shot during the battle at the end.... ONE fucking word for that "Amazing" I need to see it a third time.

5. Rocky Balboa - I was very surprised with this movie, I really enjoyed it, The main story wasn't about the fight in the ring, it was about Rocky's struggle, and it was layed out nicely, it was a great story.

I don't know if I can make a suggestion for anymore in my top 10, So I would say my top 5

REVISED.

Not a bad list, But I do disagree. Also is this in order?

I have to revise my list, I have one more movie to see this year, Well 2006
After reading your list I have to see The Illusionist, Little miss sunshine, The
prestige, Maybe Volver. and I can't forget The Fountain

1. Letters from Iwo Jima: Very realistic film, There was more war in it than I thought there would have been, One of the best movies in the past few years.

2. Pan's Labyrinth: Another War movie, Well War/Fantasy, Was the fairytale real or not, That is the question, There are some rather good debates on both side.

3. Blood Diamond:I wanted to see this the first time I saw a trailer for it, Looked fantastic. I loved this movie, Was my #1 until I saw the new top 2. lol.

4. Children of men: for the fact the movie was realeased a month or two before it's release, I thought it would be shit. and this was one of the better movies this year.

5. apocalypto: I saw the trailer and wanted to see the film, Not gory, but VERY brutal. I ecpected a good movie, and I thought it was rather good.

6. Rocky Balboa: Does it belong in the top 10? Maybe not, But the reason It's in my top 10 is because it was a very pleasent surprise. I thought it would be ok at best if that. and it far exceeded my expectations. and to me it deserves my listing in the top 10.

I don't think any other movie I have see this year so far deserves to be on the list.
