yes the movies OAR is 2.35:1 but all the camera was able to get was about 1.89:1 so thats what they encoded it at.

that is an interesting point about the noise in the sample. the snor could be passed off as one of the freaks on the boat but that did sound like a very short gigle thats not in the movie

"i wish you guys would stop greeting about something you got for free."
free does not equal crap is ok (not that this rls is bad) especially when there are scene rules

Posted by arvlight&sound on 05-26-2007 11:46 PM:

video is good, clear, a few problems with autofocus but only in maybe 1% of the movie

audio is clear, direct, and in sync

movie was ok

8/8/6

So should VCDQ just pack up and close LOL

It always fascinates me when people give 'the above quote'
on a part of a forum (or site) where you are SURPOSED
to comment on, and rate a release lol retard.

oh, and btw they don't 'do it for themselves'
otherwise why put it on the net?

they do it for the props & to beat other groups (& hopefully be the best) also for FUN.
Ultimately WE DO IT BECAUSE WE CAN.

Also some members of gropes DO read this and other forums
to see how well (or not) their release is received.
Some stick to their channels.

Anyways, Cam'ing is one thing, but syncing audio isn't so easy.

BIG CONGRATS to mVn for a Very nice release.
Just in time for the school holidays (in the UK)

v:7
a:7
m: Good Stuff

EDIT: people reporting 'sync' problems, Get a new Codec Or look to your own shit.
i didn't get ant problems on this old OLD laptop (did i say old?) Man its old.

"Ultimately WE DO IT BECAUSE WE CAN."

you in a group ???

Converted and played back on standalone, its far better than some here would have you believe.

V8
A7 (some small sound issues)
M7

Posted by JKozzy on 05-27-2007 03:33 AM:

I have had zero sync issues. Camera goes out of focus during a couple of scenes but not a big deal at all... colors are great. AR is off but whatever, I'm gonna see it in the cinema later anyway. Audio loud and crisp and has some bass to it. Well done to mVs and all involved in this release.

V 8 - great
A 8 - would be higher but audio skips for a second at a few parts
M - still watching but prob a 9 so far

This isn't watchable, and trust me, i have very low standards when it comes to movies. But hey, kudos on the audio.

Posted by xplicit on 05-27-2007 10:55 AM:

ARGH ITS CAM AUDIO! LISTEN TO THE SAMPLE WITH UR VOLUME RIGHT UP!! STOP SAYING ITS DIRECT. WHICH IS WHY IT'S ALSO VERY EMPTY/HOLLOW SOUNDING.

:MOD EDIT: /me gives xplicit an e-kick in the gonads for posting in all caps. -V

Posted by moviedvdfreak on 05-27-2007 11:17 AM:

pretty damn good first rls,yes it has its flaws but still very watchable.no sync issues what so ever, and if this isnt direct audio then its one of the best cam audios i ever heard.this will be the copy to get until a R5 or a dvdscr comes out,if that even happens.

V 7.5

A 8

M 6.5

McNumpty !
It always cracks me up when ppl come on here to brag about their Home Entertainment Systems. "Hey, look at me. I paid $40,000 for a T.V. so I can watch crappy, tilted and blurred, hand held home made movies."
Fantastic irony !

As for this release. For those watching on normal tele's
V - 7
A - 7
M - 6

Posted by the___line on 05-27-2007 11:29 AM:

Its probably because TV's will have a lower resolution so the picture will look a little bit better

7/7/? (might watch today!)

Posted by druss on 05-27-2007 12:01 PM:

geeze.
people... there are a couple of minor sync issues. a couple of minor blurry bits. a perfectly watchable release.
my only gripe is the audio sometimes fades in and out but again it's a quick release and after the shambles of potc2 "releases" this gets a thumbs up from me. a keeper until dvdrip or r5 with good audio.

7
6(due to the few fades and minor sync issues)

Unlike i would say 90% of the comments here regarding the Audio
I watched the COMPLETE movie BEFORE posting a comment here.

if this audio is 'cam' then I'm a monkeys uncle.
I watched the thing on a laptop (@3am) with 'in-ear' headphones (so not to disturb Mrs Dailey)

I can say with 99% certainty its Direct audio.

In fact when the scene came up (from the sample)
all background audio was from extras in that scene.

At one point in the movie you hear a slight 'hummm' sound like when you put your finger on a RCA cable as you plug it into an amp.
you don't get this with 'cam' audio.

Anyway, to add to my previous rateing, i must say
this is one of the best TS's we've seen in a long time.

PS. when people comment on 'watching it on a 42" plasma'
I think they 'may' be referring to the quality of picture when displayed on such a large screen,
and how it looks good or not as a large screen is rather more Unforgiving than a 14" portable TV in the kitchen.
I don't however think they are 'only' boasting about there TV size.
however, i can see why owners of said 14" portable TV's would think that

For it being released on the day after cinema release or a couple of days after {Whatever it was} It's one of the best MVS releases I've seen in a long time.

Yeah its skips about .0.1 seconds of sound about 4 times in the film but it doesn't lose sync and the picture has no glitches or pixelation from what I see

And mine was converted to MPEG 1 and burned off to watch on a PS3...

A: 7.5/8
V: 7.5/8
M: 9.5 - Awesome but realise I'm missing a final scene somewhere.

Posted by DeathByVodka on 05-27-2007 05:49 PM:

This isn't bad, I've been watching it on a 17" monitor and its quite washed out and quite pixellated, but when I encoded it to a DVD and played it on a TV it looked a bit less blocky, certain bits are still pretty shoddy though.

V: 7 (for a TS)
A: 8 (Seems fine on my PC)
M: 5 (Nowhere near as good as the last two.)

Posted by shadow22 on 05-27-2007 05:59 PM:

I have to give props to mvs on this one. Much better than their usual quality.

Video: 8
Audio: 8
Movie: 7
