all i have to say is WOW, its not dark, the audio is nice and crisp on my sorround sound...
the sample, was dark, as for the divx, after put on dvd and played on my tv, no darkness...
9/9/9
Ran it through Vdub and and adjusted the brightness/contrast. Also applied a sharpness filter. Greatly improved the video quality, but it took over 5 hours to process while I slept last night.
V=9 - After processing.
A=10 - Excellent!
M=? - Saving it for the weekend to watch with friends. Looks to be a good movie while previewing it...
Way to go PUKKA!
??????????
:MOD EDIT: ..repost in the Newbie or Encoding section please. These are the comments forums. -V

v9a9m?? doesnt look dark to me adjust ur settings?
reminds me of the centropy days *sniffles*
How anyone gave it a score of video 9 is beyond me ?
If you want to fix it adjust the colour balance not contrast/brightness your get better results especially if you use QT trailer as a reference
Heres a before and after

All VLC did was correct the audio during playback. It still encodes severly out of sync and I am tired of spending more than four hours encoding this shit. I guess I have to find a new encoder then...

Pukka with an amazingly early release.

No way is this a dvdscreener. unless it was recorded through Analog. there are just so many things wrong here - the picture has extremely bad contrast levels:
http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/5528/levelspd7.png
i mean, that's just ridiculous!
talk about low dynamic range! that's just about half of normal!!!
this makes the film extremely dark, and the colors dull.
and if that's not enough, it's too blurry.
oh, and the audio is only 2ch. understandable due to the length, but i don't get the point of 2ch ac3 - either go original 5.1 audio, or mp3.
v-5.5
a-7
m-?
Dark, but guess what? Watch on standalone DVD player ( and your TV), turn up the brightness and you got yerself a movie.
Good job, PUKKA-and the release date not till next weekend here in NY!
V- 9- just a tad dark
A- 10 ( I used Dolby 5.1)
M- 8.5 ( I'm picky, but great flick)
V 8(bit dark and very pixilated in some parts)
A 8.5
M 10(loved it)
:MOD EDIT: ..please repost your question in this thread or PM the individual. These threads are for rating the releases. -V
Video needed serious adjusting once played on standalone dvd and tv. Audio dual stereo. No black and white scenes, no watermarks.
So, I'm rating it AS IS:
V=5
A=8
M=10
I was glued to my seat!
Burn it and adjust tv setings and you're fine.
after re-encoding with vdub, playing with levels and saturation - (had to use my new Q6600 for SoMETHING... 1.5hours while surfing and watching mpg4... sweet)
still looks like crap.
after watching the crisp, vivid colors of the trailer from imdb - this looks PATHETIC.
the trailer show clearly: this movie is NOT DARK, NOR DOSE IT USE A BLAND GRAYISH PALETTE.
where are the days of the LOTR dvdscreeners??? for just a few seconds of "property of" and "for your consideration" we had REAL QUALITY. 5.1ac3, crystal clear picture, almost indistinguishable from retail!
so, i'm re-evaluating the score:
v - 4 (like a TS, without the bad AR and flickering. most TCs are superior [see Hostage TC for reference)
at least the audio is fine. with the slew of bad R5s we had this year, that's a blessing.
AWFUL RELEASE - DO NOT DOWNLOAD EXPECTING EVEN VHS QUALITY
It may very well look less than VHS quality on a newer plasma or LCD... but not unwatchable on any older TVs.
Strong pixelation during dark scenes.... audio perfect, video at least a 7.5 during lighted scenes, during dark scenes it does get pretty bad, but I only noticed one at the beginning that even looked bad.
Haven't finished watching the film, looks interesting but rather go out and have some Chinese.
7.5/9/?
V- 7
A-10
M-??
For everyone who watched the movie, what adjustments did you make to the brightness?
I have to agree the video quality is crap. Still looks like crap after playing around with the level controls. Audio is fine though. Someone would probably still use this as an audio source in a latter release. Movie is very deep. A must watch!
V - 4 (as a DVDSCR)
A - 9
M - 10
