I have to disagree re the monarchy too, on the old argument about the amount of tourism and status they give us. I don't believe, never have, that the Royal Family were direct descendents of God (being an atheist ruins that argument for me) but I do believe that a bloodline through which this country was run for centuries should count for something - if you made the monarchy a lottery it would be a sham. Imagine if Jade Goody had become the next queen...

Anyway, without them we wouldn't have the cash that the Japanese tourists bring in so that they can stand in front of Buckingham Palace gurning into their cameras. And we wouldn't have a vital diplomat able to attend to issues overseas that our useless cunt of a PM can't handle and still command respect.

Why are people afraid to have someone to look up to, a figure head, something decent to aspire to? The Queen exudes decency and dignity. Without a Royal Family, England is just a tiny country with an infestation of Somalians, with the Royal family, England heads the British Commonwealth.

Not so sure about inbreeding either, they end up with the people they meet within their social circles, naturally that's going to be a small environment but with the exception of some gingers I haven't seen them produce any mutants yet (except that kid Ferguson had but that doesn't count as it's too far removed - Beatrice?).

As for Frank Gallagher, I agree it's nice to have someone in charge talking sense, but the royals aren't in charge - with the excepted power to dissolve parliament, which in any case would never be actioned. They're there to represent us to the world at large; without them we'd be a pretty fucking small island with no real exports

I have to agree, when it comes to immigration I think people should have some form of "testing" done first to ensure they at least have something to offer, can pass a basic English test and aren't just here to take the piss... Baring in mind that I've got a few Paki/Muslim friends (including my best mate) I'm well aware of the fucking shenanigans that go off to get people into the country - including one of my mates having a totally bogus wedding to some bint that he hated.

Drugs policy is also way out of touch with the real world and prohibition clearly isn't working so why not try regulation and taxation instead?

I'd also like to see further regulation in the private sector, especially with companies that used to be nationalised and are now privatised and clearly taking the piss on pricing... Energy and public transport spring to mind, fucking cunts!

^^ Agreed on energy. National Fuel/Grid is extremely pricey but thats not even my biggest concern. There is no investment going on. No line maintenance other than specific repair. No upgrades, no preventative maintenance, nothing.

ohh THERE ARE TOURISTS OBVIOUSLY..but rarely infact see the queen..i was a tourist myself about 10 years ago i went to buckingham palace and windsor castle...didnt even see a corgi..and neither did the hundreds of japs/chinks who also there them 2 days.

Does the royal family actually have any power? To my understanding, however right it may be, they are nothing but figure heads politically, i know they command high respect and are basically above the laws of England, but if they want to make it law that everyone has to wear purple on wednesday, do they actually have that authority? if they dont, then whats the big deal? People like them, and wheres the harm? They do good from this Americans eyes, just as figureheads.
