I'll refer you to my original response... Those LED lights DON'T run off the GFX card you need a dedicated controller and software, just like any other lighting rig. Plus, they're spunktacularly expensive... If you want links to all-singing all-dancing lighting setups, I can probably sort that but that's not what I was asked

If I got a small size solid state disk (say around 8gb) and installed the OS alone on it, then used a bigger IDE or SATA drive to install various programs would I see a big difference in speed of access?

I can think that the OS startup would be quick, but how about the day to day running?

Is it really practicle, or should the OS and Programs all be on one drive?

Other than it requiring a few registy hacks to get some software working (basically pointing internal settings *away* from the flash drive so you can cache stuff on your HD) and some applications might still be a bit flakey if they're hard-coded with various paths, it seems like a workable idea... And yes, it should be pretty fast, especially if you have lots of ram because I suspect the thing that would slow it down is Window's remarkable propensity for spooning shit out to the swap file - and write speeds on many flash drives are a bit cack (still faster than a HD I guess though).

so, erm, you can do it but it's not simply a case of installing your OS like normal, but a quick Google pulled-up a few guides.

Oh, and remember to ensure your PC and flash drive are USB2 or you're going to be pretty fucked off when you measure your boot times in hours

Ah! My main points still stand... Install the drive, shove Windows on it then point anything that will "grow" (Program Files, My Documents etc) at your standard drive... It's piss-easy and there's even some PC apps out there to assist you. You'd be better off posting this in the computer help forum so I and our other resident boffs can point you in the right direction.

It depends... AnySIM claims to be able to unlock 1.1.1 iPhones if they're Virgin ones (and they're working on expanding that). Otherwise it looks like you need to downgrade first.
