This movie rocks. This release could use some help.
Video - sharp pic, chops quite a bit during any action sequence. The color tint of the camera flops back and forth between "inside" and "outside" setting at least 10x throughout the release and spends considerable time in each. (grey/vibrant)
Audio - sound is mostly good, albeit quiet. It does range up and down and I had to keep the remote handy when the volume went up (it mostly stayed low)
Movie - great show. I'm glad to see Depp around and playing parts like this. The movie is good fun and is probably a decent movie to introduce older children to 'zombies' if they're of that age
One point... early on in the movie.. probably 20-30 minutes (I'm not sure really, just know it was CD1) there was a point where the two set off in a ship. Then you get a quick black screen followed by a white-flash and bunch of multi-color pixels.. and then they're suddenly in a town.... Anyone who watched it in the theatre know what all was cut out, if anything?

well, I'm told nothing is missing.. maybe my dvd player just read it wrong and put the extra crap up there instead of just a transition screen.

LOLL!!! yes when depp and bloom go to tortuga or wutever they show u the island @ night from like a helicopter view and suddenly you're teleported into the middle of a scene in the town... I saw the movie in the theatre and you didn't really miss too much, basically they get inside the town and it's like a giant party... ppl are drinking, shooting, and fighting each other and then the two main characters are just talking about their past and crap.

well, I'm just glad to know it wasn't my dvd player acting up
I may well go to the theatre and see it this weekend.
Well what can i say i watched this release yesterday on my LCD display through my progresive scan DVD player and it is really amazing. The reason the tone of colour changes is because Tcs do it on the camera with the indoor outdoor switch this allows more or less white through the lense hence changing the colour so that indoor scenes become more viberant. The movie was brillient and the sound wasn't bad either. There is a missing part and can anyone tell me if anything important happens in it or do u just see them sail into the port where he gets slaped. oh yeah i watched abit of it on my TV and it was heavily pixalated did anyone else have this problem.

I Love this but not as much as i love Quality
Hmm
I was expecting alot when I read the reviews of this release, and the reality of it is that it's not that great. First the positive points:
1. The movie was great (9)
2. The clarity of the picture was great (9)
Here are some negatives to watch for:
1. Audio level drops dramatically at some points through the film, and it seems as though they intentionally altered the audio so that the voices were loud and the music was low, because in nearly every scene the music sounds extremely distant, while the voices are clear (generally).
2. There are seemingly random points where the camera zooms in and out, and other places where it pans. Why? Who knows. The camera also shifts back and forward like they were trying to get the film into view-but this happens a good 30 minutes into it (a bit late).
3. There is a point where they are sailing to Tortuga that magically skips directly into the town. Though this happened on my dvd player (and several other people in earlier posts), I have yet to see if it happens on my pc.
4. The color tint varies awkwardly, particularly later in the film. There are points where it starts fluctuating rapidly, making the characters go from pink to faded and back several times.
The movie itself was very good, 9 4 9, the audio was not very well done for this release.
The level of contrast changes every now and then, not a big problem though. I just liked the quality, better than centropy lately!

Does any of the releases have the easter egg ending?
Of the 2 releases, NOX and CTP, neither has the special treat after the credits setting up PotC 2. I didn't stay all the way to the end of the credits and missed it. I hoped to find one of the releases that captured it. Any help here as to which one has it?
If all of them missed it, then none of them are worth crap.
I thought this was a very well done rip... audio was pretty good, video was okay (a little too blue for my liking). Overall I'd say 8/8/9
I finally got around to downloading after sitting on the TGF on for a while. It's much better and darn good movie to boot. I'd given the video a 10 if it wasn't for some of the glitches and stuff people above have already mentioned.
9/8/10.
7.5/7/9
Frames jumped alot but that didnt keep me from loving this movie.. If u want a more fluid moving version, get the APM release or wait on a dvdrip. If you want one with better colors and slighty better sound, get this one.
