good release copy by videocd, but movie....you get the idea

excellent quality!

9/9/8.

Lighten up! I've read those shitty reviews too. What's up with those critics? You know they give high ratings to shitty ass movies and then something like this which is enjoyable, they give such a low rating.

very good video and audio quality - 8/8

movie itself is rather artificial and boring, although I must admit I did laugh once or twice, but overall it's no good. rating - 4

btw, something is wrong with the second videocd. no player would play it. had to re-encode it to mpeg2 using VCDGear. What's the matter with those release groups? They just don't learn how to create videocds properly. Ah, well...

8/8/4

I'd give it 8.5/9 on the video and sound, but a 4 for the movie? I enjoyed it, my partner enjoyed it, kids seem to love it. Would you say its relative to who watches? Not brilliant by any means but at least rates a 7.
BTW what standalone do you use? I have a Yamaha and it ran both vcd's fine.

Ok, everything has probably been said but hell I just saw this and wanted to put my 2 cents in.

Great video. Could put it on VHS and noone would know it wasnt from the rental store(minus the begininning).
Movie blew chuncks. I love Garfield and it being 70 minutes would be the only reasons I watched it. Big let dow in all catagories of the comic(John with a date?). My cat did resemble Garfield an aweful lot, though.

Video=9
Audio=9.3
Movie=2(only watched because it was so short)

I don't go to the theater and even if I do it is free. This is a good example of why people should be able to download the movie first or at least download a good 10-20 minutes of it. If I had paid to see this crap I would have been back at the ticket counter 20 seconds aftet the movie let out. They make tens and hundreds of millions of some bad movies and yet they still complain and then they make hundreds of millions off of good movies and still they say they are being hurt by those who download movies on the internet. I say stop making crap noone wants to see in the theater and more people will be in the theater watching your movies.

Last couple of opening weekends should be enough proof that the internet downloading has not hurt anything or anyone let alone the ticket sales!!!!!!!

hmm, personally i had no problem with mine, but have had that happen to me a few times on different releases, usually the second cd. (most of the time it just requires you to pul lthe mpeg off the cd with VCDGEAR and reburn with nero, or whatever you use)

But, like i said, mine played fine with PowerDVD when mounted thru daemon tools, and played great thru my Panasonic DVDplayer once i burnt them.

That's right, it's a funny name

it may be more amusing for children than for adults, but still, I think even children won't be satisfied with this movie. maybe EXACTLY because they are children they'll notice the artificiality of this movie right away, even faster than adults.
Take for example that misplaced quote from Apocalypse Now. It's supposed to be funny, but it's not. It's artificial.
And besides, children don't watch Apocalypse Now. And most adults don't watch Garfield. So who's supposed to recognise the allusion?

This movie is no different from hundreds of other Hollywood movies - artificial humour, and therefore not funny.

I watched it on pc. When I said "player" I meant software players. Although, I do have a hardware mpeg2 decoder and it refused to play the videocd either. Same thing with WMP.

Awesome quality, dont know if its the best ever, but its the best in my couple years on the scene, that is understandable with only 35 mins a disk tho, shorter than half baked?? is that possible....??? and yes i know it is, but that allows a higher bitrate and shit = better rls.. with that said 2 things that will make these ts's almost dvd quality are showing up, and will be addressed in DVcams eventually are 1, the extremely slight motion blur, doesnt screw with u much but its there, and 2 the lightness, i notice this on all videocd, when you get to the brightest scenes the white is on ppls faces and blah not their fault in any way, but give it a year or 2 and im sure its gonna be on... but the dts is what video cd is all about how can u rate bad on that.. good good good stuff keep it up 10/10/6 (movie not that bad, just 70 mins? f**k i dont care if it was 120 mins, they had alot more to work with with this sketch, but it wasnt exactly bad, just not long enuff or i guess exact enuff to the comic

Luverly

VideoCDs french suplliers are making me very happy at the moment. Last TS I got which impressed me this much was Centropys Bruce Almighty. Sharp, good colours, clear sound.

9/9/4

Was ready to say that pHo was being a bit harsh on this film, wasn't expecting much but thought it would be OK to watch for a video night with my girlfriend. I watched the first 10 mins this morning though, and oh dear, I'm afraid it looks like he's right. Really forced corny humour, cat only vaugely looks like Garfield, doesn't act like him, doesn't sound like him and all the other characters are utterly way off. They should have done this like the last loony tunes film with characters in their cartoon form but shaded to add more depth and blend them in with the live action scenes. But even that wouldn't have saved the really cringe making humour.

I wont give a score till I've actually seen all of it, but the fact that people are scoring this higher than football factory is depressing based on what I've seen.

EDIT: Well movie was a pretty run of the mill family comedy, and I didn't really enjoy it, my girlfriend did though. It went through the checklist of finding love, someone being kidnapped by an evil animal hater, dancing to "I feel good", the old "I'm so tired I can't go on any more, oh look zoom out and I'm just outside my gate, didn't see that one coming..." etc etc. Not quite as bad as I'd first feared but that only bumps it upto a 4.

There seemed to be a problem in mine where the picture would freeze on the one frame for about 5 mins, been told it was due to the Audio so might try and correct it at some point to see what I missed

Didnt think it was the best Cartoon--->Movie but def not the worst.

Great Video and audio like all VideoCD releases. Crapy movie not really funny. GF loved it though but that doesn't say much.

Ok, watched this on the stanalone lastnight.

First off, what hit me was the copping. This rls is quite heavily cropped. aslo the titles at the begininng trail off screen, but however, these are no biggies and do not affect the film that much.

Audio is great, no problems whatsoever.

Video - not too bad at all. maybe a little dull but expected with a TS.

Mine seemed to have a VERY slight audio sync prob. maybe 0.5ish secs if you wanna be really picky. Overall great rls, this is the one to get for now.

7/9/5

Movie is OK (nothing more), just for a light hearted laugh really, girlfriend enjoyed...Bill Murray was great as Garfield....couldn't think o fanyone better!
