and people, maybe its just me, but if a group releases something as an SVCD, then perhaps you shouldn't really request a repack just because you are having issues converting it to DVD. the original product isn't bad, as it plays on any player as an SVCD, which is its original intent, no?

its like getting a brand new car then making your own modifications to the engine and it not running after that. you can't blame the manufacturer - blame your own stupidity!

2.5 hours? Why waste that much time?

svcd2dvdmpg extracts the mpg files, demultiplexes, then resamples the audio to 48khz. All of this takes about 20 minutes on my computer. (P4 2.2 Ghz w/ 400Mhz FSB, 512MB RDRAM) Then if your DVD player will play PAL SVCD all you have to do is author the DVD files which takes about 5 minutes, then burn. If your DVD player doesn't support PAL DVD then you have to convert to NTSC using MainConcept.

In short, there is no need to convert to DVD mpg. All that needs to be converted is the audio. The video is fine left as SVCD compliant.

Go to www.videohelp.com and look up svcd2dvdmpg for a complete walkthrough.

Same here, that is what I usually do. But it did not work with this one. That is why I was telling everyone to use Nero.

Nero Smart only had the SVCD option. I've made DVDs before with just nero and VOB files. Regardless I used EO Video and TMPGenc. Maybe next time.

I used the exact same method as BiggD23 and it worked without a hitch. I used version v1.1.1.16608 of SVCD2DVDMPG to convert and Mainconcept to encode. The audio was out of sync by .800 secs as someone mentioned earlier, but I fixed that using Goldwave.

put it straight on dvd easy.... can someone tell me what is on the 104kb mpg as i left it out ????????

Posted by 104 on 08-06-2004 04:59 AM:

the problem seems to be the 104kb mpg so leave it out.

Posted by Panthro on 08-06-2004 06:52 AM:

avi/vcd/svcd/dvd from boilsoft...worked for me...fast and was able to convert from pal to ntsc without a sync problem...
