Very nice pic is clearish and colour is good, could be sharper but im nit picking.
Sound is excellent, especially using DPL2.

Only watched CD1 movie seems a bit slow so far, but entertaining enough.

8/9/7 so far

Maven is the bomb right now!! Great Job. Watched this last night. Sounded great on surround sound. Picture was pretty good. During the dark scenes I did notice what appeared to be a lighter circle in the center of the picture. Not sure what it was. You couldn't see it when it wasn't dark.

Movie was really not that good. I know I shouldn't compare it to the original but if I do, then I can safely say this movie sucks balls for the most part.

Angry

I dont understand half the posts I see in here. I got so irritated at the incorrect posts I decided to join. This is in fact the worst Maven I have ever seen. Maven has made a good name for itself. I would prefer Maven or Centropy over anything else. I am a little upset they put their name on this one. The pic is blurry, the color is off in spots as well.. The sound is ok. The movie is a letdown. More boring than the original. Atleast its full screen.
For a Maven... It's a dissapointment.
6/7/5

Just to confirm cd2 doesnt require overburn unless you rip the mpg and try to burn it with nero

What the Hell?, Picture was awesome, far better than AVP,..
IE. Specatular motion capture, hardly any pixilation....2 people arrive late in the beginning but so what. Dleted them.

"At least its full screen."
What the Crap?!! The movie was 16:9 with great AR.

Sound was awesome. Better source that last 2 movies.

Video 8

Audio 9 (great with surround snd)

Maybe that guy just got his copy from kazaa and got the POT release LOL.
Funny shit ...

Posted by Redemption198 on 08-26-2004 07:24 PM:

I think ur tripping Sir Killalot, are you sure you dont have the POT Version.

The colour is poor in that, looks nearly Black and White, the sound is only bearable and although not FS, it is its a 16:9 shape compared to Mavens which is definetly not FS, looks nearly a 2:35:1 picture, plus the sound on Mavens is as good as it gets for a TS SVCD.

A way to tell is, what scene is the sample?

Posted by sbyrn4 on 08-27-2004 02:55 PM:

err.....maybe its just me but the sound seemed massively out of sync towards the end of the first disc. Still , great Video as to be expected from maVen

ok i have read alot of the posts, i havent posted in a while, but this is one of mavens worst, in the few un dark scenes its all fine and dandy, but i noticed in the dark scenes the color is off, i havent seen the real thing to compare it too, but i screwed with the tv for 10 mins trying to improve this, to no avail, so i watched the ppl with a blueish purplish tint to them, but when the lights were on... once again fine... also the pitch black areas, were looking more purple to me, been a while since i noticed a movie with that... (no its not an .avi=c) oh well, spot on audio, i thought the movie was rather good, enuff gore and storyline, altho i see y some were disappointed, this is almost what I wanted... ok this all said, 6.5/9/8

this happen with burn? i know my copy stayed in sync. if it was a burn try burning it slower, that usually fixes it

Movie-8 Saw it Saturday night and I enjoyed it and thought it was decent. Of course it wasn't has good as the original classic.

Was a bitch to get in. The movie's R and I'm 16. To get around this I just order the tickets online. The machine was down so I had to go to customer service and have the guy print out the tickets. Guy prints it out and won't give the tickets to me and my friend cause we don't have ID cause we're not 17 yet. Happened twice before with Dawn of the Dead and Troy (but with Troy the guy at the door didn't let us in cause he has a grudge with one of my friends and he was letting people in younger than us too). God damn AMC. I turn 17 in a couple a months and shit like this still happens. I can get in Fight Club when I'm in the 6th grade without a parent but I'm 16 and in the 11th grade and can't get in a movie. Plus I don't do gay shit during the movie. Hell if my friends start talking loud during a movie I tell them to STFU. Anyway my friend's sister was going to see it at another theater so he called her and we just met up with her. Movie starts at 8:05. We get there at 7:45. She doesn't get there until 8:05. By the time we got it me missed probably about a minute of it.

Nice release, typical maVen, the movie was terrible, but most fans will love it.

I think some of you are watching the wrong release if
you are even watching it at all. Saying that this is Maven's worst release is crazy.
the movie imo was better than some of the reviews i've been
reading but not as good as the original.
video was fine and of course damn near perfect audio.

8/8.5/7.5

Nice quality indeed. Video and audio are both good. And movie isn't that bad after all, it is still the best Exorcist sequel!

Hey this is the worst maven release.. Its a blurry source. I need help. Does anyone know exactly what model MiniDV camera's these movies are recorded on. Also are they time lapse? I know most are 3ccd models. But mavens recently and Cartel's releases are excellent telesyncs. Also, if a movie is 2.5 hours long, how do they fit the entire movie onto one 120 l/p DV cassette without switching tapes and losing part of the movie? Also, theatre sound is taken from Handicapped booths with direct line-in audio, right? But how is DTS and AC3 extracted from the theater reel?? I am doing my own recording and just looking for people in the know to give me some advice. Thanks.
