If we were talking about cams, I wouldn't say anything, but a TS is recorded using an external audio source, so one would assume audio should be fine. If it's not and one has to increase the volume, thus decreasing the overall audio quality, then such a release should be called CAM, and not TS.

I was agreeing till you said that.

All DTS sourced TS have a lower volume than cams and traditional TS.
I dont get whats so hard about increasing the volume, and increasing the volume doesn't decrease quality if your using a Proper Surround receiver, but digitally increasing it with audio software does as you will create distortions that weren't in the original.

A Cam is, and always will be, sound recorded with the mic on the Camera.
How the hell can you call a TS that has Dolby ProLogic encoded on it, A Cam, just cause its a bit low.
No matter the volume or quality of TS sound, it will always be a TS.

And of course I don't use WMP for playback, I am using my hardware mpeg decoder (plus the soft that was supplied with the hardware card). I just tested the release in WMP. I think a working release should work properly in all players, even if only a few people use WMP.

Tmpeg maybe not the best audio encoder, but using DX plugins in Sound forge is a pain in the ass, cause you have to decode the mpeg audio stream from movie releases to uncompressed pcm to open it in soundforge in order to edit it (or rather SF will decode it for you), so you need plenty of free harddisk space (in addition to all the harddisk space that is already used up by the movie itself)

The sound problem is not sound card related, there are several TS releases in which audio volume is just fine, also the volume on all my dvds is fine.

The volume problem may be due to the fact that the audio stream in some movie releases is in dolby surround format, as suggested on another vcdq thread. However, the sound on all of my dvds is also encoded in DD, and still sound volume is all right there.

WMP is known for being a terrible player of SVCD. Nothing but constant headaches. Never a problem with PowerDVD or VLC

Thumbs up

8/8/9 maVen Yall Guys Are EXCELLENT!!!!!!

This movie gets 2 Thumbs WAYYY UP!!!! Me and my Lady watched this one together and WOW! The Video is dang near Perfect. This is definately one of the Best TS's I have Ever seen. The reason I say "near Perfect" is b/c like others have said there is a tad bit of Motion Blur throughout the film but it's really not that noticable. The colors are excellent also. They may be a little washed but it really fits the movie so thats not noticable either. The Audio is the maVen usual. Excellent! This DTS sound is Awesome on my Surround Sound Home Theater System. It really comes through and fills the system up nicely. As for the movie itself, my Lady and I both thought it Rocked. Alot of people thought it sucked, but they are entitled to their opinion as am I. The movie had Good suspense and good twists to it. I thought it was just plain Good. Thanks Again maVen for all the Hard Work you guys put into every release. Yall are pretty much becoming the standard for TS releases. Keep Em Coming and we'll Keep d/ling!

P.S.

I wish people would just rate the movies and stuff instead of shitting on each other all the time. It gets really old trying to read what people think about a movie and yet you got all this shit about so and so is a retarded newb and a lamer and what not. Why not just let people express their opinions about a movie without having to worry about some Loser trying to flame them just because the Loser's opinion differs from the poster's. A good example of this would be Villain Flaming Q B just because he thought there was a really good part in the movie. Maybe 404 needs to start the ol Rules Post at the beginning again. That seemed to atleast cut down the flaming a good bit. Oh well, I dunno but I wish people would just chill out and let others use the site for what it was made for. Rating Movies. Sorry for the rant but that just really got under my skin this time.

/end rant

Good movie. Not a bad copy either. It's a bit dark in places, but that's just what goes with the territory Sound was a bit soft, could have used a little amplification. Great release over all. The movie made my daughter and I jump out of our seats in a few places. Grab it if ya can.
