POST WAS ERASED

Posted by CutThroatJake on 11-02-2004 01:32 AM:

i thought it was a awful ts
pic five
sound eight
film eight.

too much ajusting all the way through and a hand blocks the picture twice.

it is watchable though. shame there wasn't a screener in time for halloween!

Posted by HATECORE on 11-02-2004 04:53 AM:

The picture is pretty good even in dark scene, the sound is loud and clear and pretty scary at some point.

The movie itself is not as scary as i was expected, over-hyped by the media. They kept going back and forth in the story and this is really pisses me off and end up that the story got no point...not to mention the crappy ending.

The movie is way too much look alike of the ring. So no need to go see it in theater or buy the DVD.

7.5/8.5/5

WTF!!! Missing 2-3 Minutes?

Okay are yous people actually capable of downloading the film? Dunno bout yous lot but ive just watched this from start to finish, and its definitely missing the ending, perhaps 2-3 minutes. So in that case you people are either judging from the sample, have not actually downloaded it, just flicked through, or are just chatting plain shizzle manizzle. I may be mistaken and it just may end abruptly but if im not then please please nukers, nuke this mofo.

nuke this mofo.

True should be NUKED!
Just watched it and it seems to be missing the ending as 'Sarah Michelle Gellar' turns around the movie ends abruptly! (also no credits etc). Left me wondering what the hell?

[7video/7sound/5.5movie] of what i seen This story is weird and seemed to keep alot open on what the hell is going on-why this is happening.

Liked 'SAW' much better...

Maybe this is because they are going to also remake Ju-On THe Grudge 2 as "The Grudge 2"

Well, just finished this one, and I watched it with about 10 friends. Everyone except one person did not find it scary. I guess i'm a lil' bitch cause I was not that "one" person. I personally thought it was real scary, and beyond that the story actually kept me interested. As for the Japanese version of this movie, I have not seen it but I will for sure when it comes out on one of my movie channels. People keep comparing this to the movie "THE RING", and a definite comparison can be drawn to that movie, but, really it stands on its own. I liked it, it freaked me out so what more do I want? Nothing. As for quality, I would give this movie a Solid 9 if it were not for camera bumps here and there (which were few and far between) so it drops to a 8 for quality. The sound was dead on so a 9 for that. The Movie itself for me was an 8 (THE RING would be a 9). So again:
8 / 9 / 8

P.S. Mystic Slippers your sigs continues to make me laugh.

Watched this yesterday
Video: 7.5
Audio:8.5
Movie:8
Video was very clear and had an angle, which was only noticeable when subtitles appeared.
Audio was great.
Movie was not as good as Ringu, but pretty scary at some moments.
Does it really miss the ending? When Sarah Michelle Gellar turns around at the end, the picture goes black and I would assume that's where the end credits start. Most TS'es do not have the end credits.

Thanks guys - but i think i'll wait.

7/8/7

Best copy out by far, movie was pretty decent.

Thank you STN!

Video: 7 - good pic and colours, but occasional distracting movement of the cam and hand over lens.

Audio 9 - excellent DTS sourced, maybe slightly out-of-sync in one small section on CD2?

Movie 8 - best horror I've seen for a while, doesn't live up to all the hype, and I thought "The Ring" was better, but still an enjoyable movie.

been waiting a while for this one

7/8/9

I'm not going to disagree with anyone on this release. The video is a bit shaky, and for a couple of seconds it gets moved to "half-screen." At least, however, it isn't a shitty street silver that is missing anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes of the movie, which POT has been nuked so many times for.

As seeing this in the theatre, you're not missing anything ... the movie ends abruptly, which makes the ending a bit frightening. I loved all the Jap movies, Ju-on, Ju-on 2, Ju-on: The Grudge, Ju-on 2: The Grudge. I own all those Jap movies, but watching this one, and trying not to compare it to the Jap ones, it's pretty scary and can hold it's own ... I also thought the American version of the Ring was a bit freaky (I liked the fly scene the most).

I love watching movies, and hate comparing them to their "originals" ... remakes suck, but at least they are normally better than sequels. I hate when people compare this movie to the Ring, just because they are both remakes of Jap movies ... nothing to do with one another, and they should be kept seperate. Not trying to rag on anyone here, just saying ... they are each scary in their own right.

Video: 6 (definitely watchable though)
Audio: 7 (with exception of the out of sync part on CD2)
Movie: 8.25, definitely worth watching again in my book, thanks for asking

/end rant

Me too - is it just us or is everyone's audio progressively out of sync?

Posted by Twirlzy on 12-01-2004 05:10 PM:

Just watched on the big screen...

My analysis:

If you dont already have a copy, you only have two to choose from so get this anyway.

It is watchable, you can enjoy the film with this release, its quality doesnt really affect the film.

Audio: is crystal clear, no problems but it does jump out of sync a few times in cd2 - but this is rectified quickly each time, going back into sync shortly after.

Video: does have an angle (noticable with subs and at beginning of film with titles) but this does not matter when the film is on, it does not make a difference and is not overly noticable.

A little washed of colour (expected) but the clarity seemed ok to me, no awful motion blur, and the picture seemed to have good depth.

The camera is shakey & zooms in & out when the operator is adjusting the camera during the titles, to prevent major cropping. Once it is fixed it is fine.

I noticed someone stand up to leave theatre and you see it at bottom of screen. No biggie. Operator also places hand in front of the lens twice. Again no biggie and only for a matter of a second or so.

Movie - I liked it, scared me.

If you want to see the movie - get this, it is fine, trust me. (what do you want, its free!)

Ok yes ime a newbie but ive been around for a far bit now and this Release has good audio but the video quality is some what questionable like the guy in the last post says the picture is on a slant and it suffers from lipsinq issues. Though the film its self is quite good but the jap original is better if you like reading subtitles

Video 6.0
Audio 8.5
Film 8.5
