Not impressed, but whatever 7/7/4 and why do i keep hearing about ctp's color being WASHED out , if you guys would look at ALL their other releases you can see that color is pretty much standardized for them. to expect less from their encodes is silly

2 things about Saosin Vs. Centropy's release of this movie. Centropy's doesn't have that bizarre echo that occurs periodically through the movie (since when can telesyncs generate an echo?). Also, the cropped AR makes a big difference. Centropy's crop is much nicer than Saosin's. When you watch them both on a standalone, the difference is astounding. Not only is Centropy's sharpness much better, but even though it's a tad brighter than Saosin's, it's much CLEARER. If you want to watch this movie on a standalone, I would highly recommend Centropy's over Saosin's.
Now that I've commented on the releases, I'd like to comment on the "return" of Centropy. For about a month, pretty crappy quality releases have been coming out. "Hide and Seek" was the best thing to hit any of us in a long time, and now Centropy has resurfaced. I am a Centropy whore, and I admit it. Talk crap about them if you want, but their releases pretty much have always killed the competition, with the exception of "VideoCd" and "Maven". Those 3 groups have ruled the scene for a long time. I hope to see Maven and VideoCd return some day to "rival" Centropy. That would be GREAT to have those 3 groups dominating the scene at the same time, but for now, it's GREAT to see Centropy back in the saddle again! I look forward to seeing many more of their future releases....

Centropy Show You How to do it?

Centropy Shows Them How To Do It....
What a load of rubbish...

I have watched both releases in full and I'm sorry to all you Centropy fans but SAO's version is a better picture...
Even if it is a little off centre...
Centropy is also cropped, colours are washed out and motion is blurry in parts.

All in all it wouldn't matter which one you get as they both have their good and bad points. I just hate how you guys idol the larger groups at the detriment of the lesser known groups.

SAO's
7.5/7/10
Centropy
6.5/7.5/10

My congratulations too all in the scene who provide releases good and bad without you I wouldn't need broadband.

Peace

Very Good. 8/9/7

Posted by X5-452 on 02-24-2005 06:13 PM:

Um, what movie are you gyus watching here...

I don't know what the hell you are talking about, but Centropy's version is far, far superior to SAOSIN's. No bullshit crop, no bullshit tilt, and no echo.

What else do you need here man? Centropy gets the respect because they are the best...I mean, if you can honestly sit there and say that SAOSIN's is better, then my friend, you need your head checked.

9/9/9

8/9/x for a ts

nice release and good to see them back. much better than SAOSIN's (which was a good ts in it own right)

Posted by bigbug41 on 02-25-2005 06:07 AM:

Actually watched both

I owe Centropy (Still the KINGS ) an apology after getting a chance to convert both to dvd-r the centropy picture is so much better and the sound just BOOMS out of my surround sound (Dam Near Came on myself ) 9,10,7 Movie was just a little above alright to me

Posted by Sin316 on 02-25-2005 07:03 AM:

since every other release has been nuked , i dont even care about proper or not lol.

i know why i waited.

for ts :

9/9/

movie was quite entertaining , even if it had the touch of being produced by the US Health Department ^^.

anyway ill give it a solid 8.

ps : if pot would release such video quality , they would get more then a 3-5 for video aswell lol (and ctp isnt best , go figure)

Posted by Proteus93 on 02-25-2005 05:43 PM:

The cropping, I can live with. I never did go for the Saosin release... but, in seeing the image comparisons a few posts up, it's quite apparent. The movie wasn't horrid, but I think I was hoping for something a little more grabbing or intense for some reason. There does appear to be a couple scenes (albeit few) where the audio appears to almost cut the rest of the sound... almost seemed like it was a touch too deep to pick up. No complaints on it, though, but I do think better has been released. 7/7/6

Great Release!! not just because its centropy,

the colours are slightly washed but i cannot see why some people have said its been over cropped... when the WB logo comes up at the start it looks perfect.

Sound in sync and perfect! - 9

Video: good, best yet, on tv it looks great - 8

Movie: well i was gonna see this one on the big screen but we have to wait for 3 more weeks till its released... hell no!
