Whoever wrote this was an older intro is correct except they were actually doing both VCD's and SVCD's, remember the SVCD standard was relatively new.

HypoLuxa, on their very next release, after they used this intro, they used the 64 start up screen, it was very funny, considering. For the life of me I can't remember what that release was though.

So you’re saying that the SVCD standard was relatively new in 2002? Correct me if I’m wrong because I’ve probably smoked about a mile of pot since then but I don’t remember CTP rlsing a VCD since like 98-99 at which time the SVCD standard was just starting to come into play (Remember the days when FTF were Gods amongst Men...lol..j/k...actually I remember most sites at that time refused to host FTF stuff because of their rep for sucking ass). In fact, I believe CTP was actually one of the first primary groups to make SVCD a standard. Anyway my point is by 2002 SVCD was already very much a standard unless my memory fails me.
As for the 64 CGi, they used it on several rls’es actually, not just one. The first one I believe was We Were Soldiers in 2002. Thanks for the info though gfavored. Can anyone else confirm what I mentioned earlier about TDi being the first group to make CGi intro’s like this? Thanks for the help all.

Hi evryone,

HypoLuxa, hi,

What I mean by "relatively new", is that the final world SVCD Standard had only came out 3 years prior, ( late September of '98), and the TDX rules were established the year of that release, (2002).

I remember in 98-99, Centropy was also doing avi's and their biggest competition was TCF then.
I didn't mean that the 64 screen was first used after this intro, I was just saying that after this beautiful intro the next release featured the 64 screen which was funny to my friends and I, because we knew alot of good groups had been taken out of the picture, and no one was releasing anything then. It appeared as if there was one last member in a closet somewhere with a 64 saying to himself, (and the powers that be), "See, you can't stop us", lmao.

I actually quite enjoyed this movie. I even enjoyed the fact that it was dark & grainy... kinda reminded me of the good old days of horror movies. Certainly alot better than the lame PG-13 excuses for horror that have been coming out lately. Definatly one for fans of old school horror.

::EDIT:: You Sir, are a fucking moron! Do you think we all get our stuff from the same source as you? Do you even have the faintest idea of how releases are spread and how your beloved Torrent site is probably about 4 tiers down the "pecking order" when it comes to who/what gets releases first. Fuck me sideways, some posts on here can actually damage your IQ I've even had to post a link to this thread in the IRC channel so people will believe how utterly retarded your post is! - Neversoft::

::EDIT 2:: Oh, and your post breaks the posting rules... Not commenting on the release in the release thread is a bannable offence but I think you've suffered enough - Neversoft::

personaly i think kazaa gets stuff first maybe you should give that a try lfao

too much red/green pixels in the dark scenes, and this is a very dark movie! Either they used a crappier camera than usual or they fucked up on the encoding (Probably the first tho). Sound is OK, no better or worse than other TS's at thew moment. Definetly the worst CTP TS release I can remember seeing. Note to Centropy tho, the Nobody does it better intro is old in more than one way , Saosin and VideoCD have been doing it as good if not better many times in the last few years, so dump it and get on with doing what you DID best. 6/7/?

I converted this to dvd then watched on my 27" TV.

Video - dark and grainy - 7

audio - a bit of a hiss - 7

movie - crap - 4

This is not CTP's best work, but thank them for the best release out.

Almost unwatchable, v disappointing from Centropy - 3/7/? (only watched first disc so far). Too many green/purple blobs all over the screen, seeing as almost the entire movie is set 'in the dark' it's a bit problem. Whoever is giving it high scores to average it over 7 for picture is blind!

Pretty good

Video: 8
Audio{ 9
Movie: 7

Definately a tad dark, but then fiddling with the brightness and contrast on my TV worked. It seemed a bit grainy, and so I would have given the vifeo a 7.5 if possible. Sound was nice and clear, although I thought I picked up a low frequency hum at the beginning of CD1. The movie seemed like early 70's. All in all, quite enjoyable.

thanks for the release.

Tom

overall, good job centropy!

Was kinda dark but it is a dark film, bet this was a hard one.
Also seemed kinda washed out.

6/6/? Nice 2 c u bk, Better luck next time.

Posted by Manson1966 on 05-17-2005 04:15 AM:

video is way too dark

Im not complaining but wathced the whole movie, the day seens were perfect, but most of the movie is filmed at night and very hard to see anything, would give it a 5 for video 9 for sound

Posted by T.M. on 05-17-2005 11:52 AM:

Just got around to watching this last night and thought the movie wasn't bad. Better than I expected. Watching on standalone the dark scenes were very hard to make out especially the bit in the house were the first guy got it, I couldn,t see fuck all.

Be honest

The hole point of this sight is to give a guide of the quality of a movie. I watched this i see that its not up to much, its not a case of this is great cause its free, i am well aware that its free and yeah i love that its free, but i dont need to be reminded, People that watch these movies, why don't u rate them honestly not being afraid that you'll hurt centropys's feelings. tell it like it is be critical. DO IT

Movie is clearly bad compared to centropy of old.

Decient release, could have been better compared to what Centropy has released in the past...

The movie itself has a dark picture, so increasing the brightness on this didn't really do any good, just makes it look more grainy, IMO. First 5 or so mins of the movie look excellent, but when the dark scenes come in, the brightness fixes take away some of the effect and decrease the quality.

Audio is good for what was available... I hope someone figures out how to crack those new DTS formats.

Video: 7
Audio: 7
Movie: 8

This is a decient release, but I'd try to wait a bit longer to see if something better comes out.
