-- Kingdom of Heaven *SVCD* - TELECINE - TUN (http://www.vcdhq.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=62526)
hmmm am i watching something else?
film its self looks good, very blue in parts and the dark bits are basically black half the time you cant make things out had to turn this off after half hour cos i could hardly see anything
audio is good tho
try to brighten your tv screen looked fine to me
9/9/8
looks perfect on my tv (for above comment) = borders black & film dark bits dark grey so fine for me.
Have to be honest in saying the quality is amazing on this.
If & that's a big if (that i dont see anyone mentioning) is that the picture looks ever so slightlly compressed horizontally giving the effect of all the actors being slightlly slimmer but that would be really picky as this is an excellent release.
8/9/? Post when done.
I did notice at about 1hr 41 (i think) there is a bit where a messenger on horseback speaks in another language & the adjoining subtitle is also not in english but it's obvious whats happening.
little dark... little pixely.. not bad for a boring movie

Adding my two cents
From watching the entire release
Video - lovely work from TUN, in my mind this is a true telecine. Great colors, couldnt ask for anymore. Slight AR issues as faces do seem thin, but this is very minor. Very little bluriness and the brightness is fine, turn the brightness on your tv up!!
Audio - lovely no problems at all. Does have about two sentances of subtitles at the end of CD2, these are in Russin but you get the jist of what is said from Orlando Blooms replies in english.
Movie - of all the recent historical epics of late this one is top of the tree imo. I knew i could trust Ridley Scott to deliver and he does masterfully. Excellent dialog, a gripping storyline that does stick to accurate events, although obviously there is the storytelling to make it encapsulated within a movie runtime.
Orlando Bloom was very good as 'the perfect knight' delivered his lines well and gave me a hero i wanted to win. Backed up by an impressive ensemble amke this one of my favourite films this year. ONE TO WATCH so thankyou TUN for delivering.
9/9.5/9
kingdom of heaven
audio 8 video 8.5 movie 5
very nice sound and video movie sucked
a rolling stone gathers no moss
Great release
The film was okay, but Ridley should have Americanised it more, during the scene between orlando and the moslim leader Saladin near the end, Team America and the US marines should have turned up all guns blazing
F*ck yeah!
7/7/5 good stuff long movie liked gladiator better
9/9/5.5
Watched this tonight, okay I guess but it was an effort to sit through the full movie.

Real nice video on this one. Sound is good as well. Movie was boring to me, hard to keep focused on this one.

IMO mislabelled "TS" like always, colors are way too red and trimmed.

Dark scenes were a little too dark. Great otherwise.
Missing battle scene???
I had a friend of mine tell me that there was a major battle scene missing in the TUN release between two of the discs. I would have thought someone would have caught this. Can anyone tell me one way or the other so I don't waste my time?! --Thx
Re: Missing battle scene???
quote:well the scenes that had CD changes rolled smoothly (disc x ends so you change to disc y and the scene continues right where you left off), so i dont think theres anything missing. if there is, then TUN did a nice job of editing.

this isnt too bad for a telecine, much better than the nbp copy which was too blue for my liking! it does look a bit dark to
me, from looking at the 20th century fox logo at the start, its almost black!
not too bad overall but ive seen much better telecines, and much worse!
v 8
a 8 (turn it up loud and you hear a slight hiss, nothing bad though)
m - not watched yet
