after watching this, it feels like a tuesday night scifi original movie with poorly mastered special effects similar to those seen on the power rangers series.
7/7/?
:: Snip
Bad AR, black scenes, repeats several times, only works in 1 of my DVD players, and if I pause it, it goes out of sync
I should have waited for a proper version and not downloaded this from the nuke dir.
got it the hour it was released
So far, a little out of sync problem during the middle of the movie, but this got fixed by using VLC media player. AWESOME release, bigtime props
The release is 2:21:32 Hours long
8.9/9/9
7/8/7
:: Fuck you.
Tell me something about this workprint. Is this longer than cinema version, or is exacly the same? Any new scenes?
After watching the whole thign I must change the score:
For when it was released and being a WP, video and sound are awesome (again, XBMC adjusts AR on the fly, so no issue here)
V: definite 9, yeah VCD or whatever it may be in encoding but I did not miss a scene
A: another 9 in my books... not a single bit of dialog or effect was not heard by my ears
M: Lucas tricks us all like he did with #2... drag..drag...drag...drag..then ending convinces you it was a great movie. Fuckin' same as ep 2. Still, sitting through the whole thing took a litre of liquor and a meal. Cut it down a notch!
So as such, it's a... 6. It will be remembered, but it's not something I will gladly sit through over and over.
Also, it's a good thing this WP was one of the "CGI included", or else thi smovie would be about 5 minutes long. My god I miss the days of models and 'technique' to establish a shot. now it's just "DRAW IN ON THE COMPUTER OMG L33T!"
I swear, the amount of actual "sets" in this movie and "actors" can be counted on one hand it seems.
masterpiece
good release, ticker on the top but still verry watchable.
If you compare this movie to ep I or II you definately arent a star wars fan, this is return of the jedi x5
DVDR rating
video=7
audio=7
movie=10
This aint complicated, this was a masterpiece
Seems pretty good, especially in such an early stage. Based on what I've seen 'till now I give the release a 7. Gonna see it in the theatre though, I think.
About the A.R: Imo changing it to 16:9 is still not the solution, it seems to me that it actually _s 2.35:1 or something near, however packed very badly (but hey, what do you expect from a stolen VCD put on a DVD in a very bad way )
sooo..... to request (which is against the rules) is ok but me commenting that people shouldn't request from a grp who doesn't do that many releases is not okay... you moderators are weird sometimes
:: I have no idea what you're talking about, but I didn't like the tone. -K::
Ok there are 94 chapters on this spread over a few seconds for each chapter, plus it dosent matchtiming on the dvd which says 30 odd mins but the full film is there including the credits.
Also there is a little problem with the vobs structure which can be fixed with ifoedit as well as the aspect ratio being fixed the same way, pic is good considering the file size and vcd format
Overall not bad, nice pre just hope whoever ripped it off dont get caught like the hulk guy did, wonder what george lucas is thinking now since the security on this release is fecked compared to the 1st film
Gonna watch it in cinema 1st i think though!

I was never caught!
I was a bit annoyed at the crappy job that the "ripper and packer" did. After seeing that the movie was basically nothing but a VCD put on a DVD, I really wondered why they didn't just release it as a 2 or 3 disc VCD. The only good thing of it being on a DVD is you don't have to switch discs. The blockiness is bad in high action scenes, and the counters are a real eye sore. It'll take some getting used to, to be able to ignore them, lol. I also noticed immediately that, although it is really a moot issue, the NFO seems like it was thrown together by a 5 year old, lol.
I do give them a thumbs up on the speed however, since I received it several hours before the North American release. I figure it will be a matter of hours, not days, before a better release is put out. :-) The below ratings are conservative and based on a 5 minute preview, not the sample.
Video - 5.0 (could be alot better, but not the worst I've seen)
Audio - 7.5 (not bad at all actually, very good considering)
Movie - TBD (looks like ALOT of action, which is welcome)
I'll form an opinion on the movie once I've seen the whole film.

The force is strong with this release. Nice treat to have last night at 3:00 am after the cinema Thios is pretty nice, looks a whole hell of a lot better in 16x9, and after scanning through seems complete. Strange that a digital film has a Workprint, and that Lucas let this out of his clutches so soon.
7/9/9 Its a celebration bitches!
A proggie called DVDpatcher 1.06 works great for fixing the AR, but you need to multiplex the VOBs to MPV or the like, and it will automatically patch the MPVs AR in about 2 minutes without re-encoding. Just select 16x9 and 352 x 240 (it was VCD).
I personally used DVDlab to demux, fixed GOP header in tools, patched MPV with DVDpatcher for the AR, re-imported the MPV to DVDlab, transcoded audio to AC3 () and compiled.
it should be quite easy to fix, but anyways
this has turned up..
Star.Wars.Episode.3.Revenge.of.the.Sith.WP.DVDR-ViSA.Aspect.ratio.fix
Just watched it to the end, No Sync probs here
and scene's are intact
(rateing, as my post a few pages back )

Just applied the AR fix and this seems okay.
No sync issues...... 1 billion chapters is annoying, but hey, its free
Just watched the sample, seems like a perfectly fine workprint, I'll save watching the film till the cinema.
But more importantly, VCDQuality is famous! This was on BBC news tonight on TV, if you go here and click on the link "See a clip of a cinema advert that warns against piracy" video link on the top left, about 35 seconds in you'll see VCDQuality!
watching now, not bad at all audio synch slightly out and big time bar across the top but pic and sound are good! 8/8/8 i think. Thanks.
Good release for a workprint. Ar was rightly fuckedup until I fixed it with ifoedit. Don't mind the counters as its better than a massive blur in the screen. The group seems clueless though.....DVD-r ?. Saw this in cinema tonight and it truly is a terrible movie.
7/8/3
I watched whole thing, very very good quality except counter. Counter is intrusive on some parts where heads are covered briefly on speeches. Other than that, without counter this would be a 9... with counter probably 7.5... Only other gripe, I watched it at 16:9 but wish i could have gotten it 2.11:1. I previewed this format in tmpgenc and it looks MOST natural. However, at 16:9 its hardly noticeable but there are a few scenes you can tell AR is still abit off. Horrible? not in the least. Noticeable.. some. Thats my review.
