For those griping about the ending, thats basically how it is supposed to end, read the book the movie is based upon.

I'm considering re-encoding the XviD, what is the correct AR? This release (SVCD) is nice. Good color, sound.

cool ill have to check out this version. I still think everyone should see this one in the theatres because of the special effects.

Personally i thought the movie got a little too corny and unrealistic towards the end but the special affects are amazing.....if you want to see this movie you really should see it with all the special effects on a big screen with great movie speakers.

Wonder if groups now will be releasing things without saying the name of the group....this would be a smart way of doing things, who cares if you get credit for releasing it or not.

Get this copy if youre too cheap/lame to find the DVDR. The Tim Robbins scenes are still fairly dark, but this is as good as anyone could of asked for so soon.

Posted by mikeymike on 07-08-2005 10:11 PM:

can anyone confirm if this is the same as:
War.Of.The.Worlds.TC.XViD-XViD
as the xvid copy i looked at was a v good copy but i could notice a few very faint sort of lines veritically in the picture about a 3rd of the way in from the left?

Great release mind.

I'ts also getting confusing now as there are 4 film versions showing on the net of war of the worlds:

1 the tom cruise cinema version now showing.

2 the original 1953 version.

3 Pendragon pictures production = Set in the right location, in the right time (1904 invasion of England). It doesn't cover the entire book, but makes only tiny changes to the bits it does depict .

4 asylum production with C thomas howell, ( SOME relation to the book , but is modern day).

& we still have the Jeff Wayne animation to accompany the remastered album to come!!!

This is a fine release and and a relative quick one too. Video is almost perfect exept for a slight blur and minor cropping (not really noticable). Also the darker scenes are on the dark side, but what do you expect? Audio is just fine.

Conclusion: Very, very watchable TC.

forgive me if i am wrong, but i thought that what the scene was all about? Getting your proper release out before x group. As i understand it, group releases are never actually meant to reach the average joe (no pun intended).

superb release.

Sound is very good.
the video is very good though it seems the reds are a little heavy and it does appear sometimes it gets a tad blurry but nothing annoying.

Again superb release.

thanx

RussTC3 After watching the entire movie last night, I found one spot where the audio went out of sync. Just want to find out if anyone else noticed it.

It was for about 2-3 minutes on the 3rd disk, when they are in the basement.

I didn't notice this on CD3. I downloaded the files from usenet and burned them to CDs right away and started watching them while I was joining the files in MPEG VCR so I could burn it to DVD for my dad.

Anyway I when I got done watching the movies on CD which I had no problem with , the DVD I made was out of synch.

Anyone else have the files play fine on CD but go out of synch when you try to put it on DVD?

The Pic is very good, but i think this is a very very good TS and not a TC, at the beginning the Dreamworks title looks like its on an angle and just after that i could see the bottom on the cinema screen just above the black bar..anyone else think?

Video 9 for TS
Audio 8-Bit low but clear
Movie 9-Good effects, entertaining movie

Nah...I would still go for tc, though a russian (as we have had a lot of lately) one nonetheless. Judging by the general ts standard of the last 2-3 months or so, then there has been nothing in this ballpark since saosins Sin City for me if this was ts, which I dont think it is. Almost perfect in fact, and ts seems to be the worst hit format.
video 8 for tc
audio 9 (spot on)
film 9(i loved it)

for all those who would argue with HG Wells, well you might as well pick fault with Shakespeares Hamlet

this is one great TC. shit
Viewed on my 32' lcd in 1920x1080 movie looks 90 - 95% good
This TC is clear as day for a blue movie that it is. GRAB this and watch it because u are not getting anything better till the DVD comes out :P

I'm a hard viewer and watch almost each rls. This is movie that people should enjoy. Shit i was inpressed thought it was going to be some crappy flick. turned out to be a enjoyable flick to laugh at.

wow i must say even tho tom cruise is a total maroon, this movie was good; just wish the main actor was someone else.

video - 9(crop)

audio - 9(little low while the talking was going on, played with the remote a few times watching late night)

movie - 8(definately gonna be a sequel, think a race is just going to send 1 fleet)

props to the group for kicken the FBI in the face by releasing such top quality in such a quick time frame at this time. they mess around and more gets shared.

very nice copy, will be watching the full thing tonight. all in all a good release, wish i knew who to thank for this one. the movie still doesnt live up to H.G. Wells, but what can one expect with Speilberg directing it.
video 7.5
audio 7.5
movie 5.5
