very good video quality for a TS, but very bad audio - very low volume and hollow.

movie itself is great - I just love movies that take place in a limited space, like Phone Booth (taking place in a - you get it already - a phone booth), or Panic Room. In this movie it's a taxi.

In such a limited and enclosed space a feeling of claustrophobia kicks in, forcing the characters to go to the limits, cause no escape is possible.

Also the story gains from such a location - it resembles a poem, where an immense quantity of feelings and emotions are compressed in a narrow space, always on the brink of exploding and bursting the narrow limits.

Don't miss this movie!

7/4/8

video pretty good. audio is quite low and hollow as someone described before. i did find myself turning the volume up to hear dialogue only to turn it back down when background music kicked in.

Watched this on the tv.

had the CD1 from the first release and picked up the repacked
CD2.

Video was excellent as we've come to expect from maven. especially for a movie that takes place at night.

Audio was very good from a clarity stand point. However, like
mentioned, the dialog mixing was a little odd.. dunno if it's just
how the film was done or if it was a problem with their source.
You'll find yourself upping the volume in scenes where there
is a dialog (not all, but some) and down the rest of the time.

movie itself was awesome. I'm not a fan of either actor, but they
did a great job and it was a well written film.

video: 8.5
audio: 8/6.5 (for dialog mixing)
movie: 9

The missing audio on cd1 is negligable! 26 seconds, you don't miss a thing.

Certainly no reason to nuke another good release from Maven.

Sound didn't seem hollow to me either!

Audio 8
Movie 9

Strangest thing happened with this. I stuck the release on 1 dvdr using tmpgenc dvd author, and the sound gap of 29 secs disappeared totally. Seemed like a pretty seamless result! This was without cutting the file with tmpgenc plus as well. Suppose that the authoring prog might have detected no sound to convert and automatically cut the scene, but very strange nonetheless!

Watched the first 15 mins, good quality, audio sounds... disappointing.

8/6.5/NA

Has that tinny quality with dialogue and music that's bothering me. I cant turn up the bass any on my speakers but still i shouldn't have to :-p

Good release. If only the cartel release wasn't so damn hard to find....

If you can't find the cartel release, get this.

not true .. the 29 seconds give us some background of Vincent's father and the lead in to the joke that follows on CD2 .. luckly I had both releases .. I basically just watched the 29 seconds (nuked release) on my PC then went back to my standalone for the remainder.

TS review ..
8 video (slight blur) very watchable
6 audio (low volume, strange artifacts)
8 excellent movie

Excellent release! Thought this was a very good movie as well. Only problem was the music seemed to drown out the dialogue sometimes. I will definately get the DVD.

Nice release. I kept disk 1 from the original release and got the repack of disk 2. The sound is lower than the first release and a bit hollow, but nice overall. The video has great quality. A few spots that are a little washed out, but crisp colors throughout the majority of the movie.

music in background???

i just got cd1 of the new repack and im still hearing the same music during the scene where tom cruise makes his first kill and that cop is going into the victims room to find him.....its some kind of loud rock music and its really annoying......i heard this on the first nuked cd1 and now im hearing it on the repack.....and i know its the real repack cuz it has the 29 seconds of audio missing at the end.....is this rock music part of the movie and is it supposed to be there???? anyone who saw the movie in theaters???

If you lack the ability or are just simply too lazy to apply the VERY simple fix mentioned in this thread for the last 29 seconds of CD1, you deserve to have your enjoyment ruined. Hey, I have a good idea.... maybe you should ask Maven for your money back....

Aside from which you've obviously been on the scene about ten minutes.... in the old days they all had heads in the way and audience laughter. You got it for free. If 29 seconds ruins your whole enjoyment, you must suffer from premature ejaculation too. I get intensely tired of posts from whining brats who expect retail DVD rips a month before theatre release.

My Call, with the fix--->
