I don't get why nobody wants to mention the raids on vcdquality in the past, are people really that new to the site they have no idea it was raided several times over? Or that it had a homepage written by the FBI.

Have you ever gone back into a nightclub years after your last vist and thought "fucking hell its full of 15 yr olds" lol. Its not like VCDQ was ever a very good "club" anyway.

What has the status of the site got to do with anything (we've never been prosecuted for anything, nor do we break any laws, something that I'm sure you're already aware of) and more to the point, why are you attacking every member? If the VCDQ forum irks you so much, stick with Pir8 and MDS, I'm sure we could cope with the "hit" to our user-base.

whenever I have gone back to a nightclub I frequented years ealier, I normally notice that they are full of young people too.

Now i think if you go back to the start of this thread and read from the beginning the general feel of this thread is that the VCDQ population is "irked" by Pir8forums and rather publicly made me out to be guilty of all pir8 as a aite and a community has ever done. Pir8 had its sellers, but really how many users of this site distribute warez? How many run servers or re-sell. This site is built on the pretence people are using it for something thats not illegal, but surely if your so anti-warez why promote and discuss the pirate copies of films that are available?. Sellers are abhorant and really i don't understand how anyone can make money from discs when everyman and his dog has broadband. Just because i frequented a site a long time ago doesn't mean i sell. I mean Mack charged sellers £25 a month to advertise if all members were sellers then £25 x 10,000 would be £250,000 a month?????

Maybe just maybe pir8 had its dickhead sellers and an even bigger dickhead owner but really without any knowledge of a community what right do you have to point the finger at people when you have absolutely no idea what your fucking talking about.

This site bends around the law, lets not pretend what its made for is in anyway more moral or upstanding it simply isn't breaking the law. Its the difference between someone selling child porn and someone promoting it wiithout profitting. I'm sure many would agree both are morally wrong.

Macks a twat and a criminal, and i'm sure he'll be thinking about that a lot during his 4yr sentence. But please come down from your self-made perch your not really morally or ethically better as you both profit from warez whether it be financially or by giving yourself a boner because people you've never met have some ridiculous respect for you.

Indeed. Only a complete fuckhead would read a page that says our admin has been arrested due to trafficking childrens to pay for his doritos addiction or whatever I wrote. That just happened to look identical to the iSONEWS downpage a week after that happened to them. Anyone with an attention span longer than 5 words would've realised it was a joke.

Who could oppose that?. The attitude since this thread began from 90% of the people replying has been about "selling" but obviously nobody has taken the time to realise that the selling sections were taken off a long time ago. Also if i were to tell you who i was on pir8 you could see from the archive's that long before the raids i strongly opposed the selling and trading sections and ripped the piss out of sellers for advertising on a public website, and low and behold their inside now.

You do take the moral high-ground, although legally there are differences between this site and pir8, morally VCDQ has helped distribute thousands upon thousands of copies of illegal films. What you do is actually advertise copies and encourage people to review and advise on which copies to get. How many of these sellers over the years do you think VCDQ has actually helped? How many copies do you think have been sold as a direct result of your reviews? I even know of a seller who linked each copy advertised to each of your "reviews" and i'm sure this site helped him make a bucket load before he was raided.

Don't come the moral high-ground your just as bad as pir8, you just don't profit from it financially.

^ I can't fault a word of that. I haven't read Pir8 which is why I've reserved my comments on it. If what you say is true, I applaud you for your stance (because sellers always have and always will be the easiest way for the authorities to point at pirates and link them with organised crime) but it was still tollerated on the site. Do I take the moral high ground? Possibly, I do regard sellers as work-shy fucks who should try a proper job

With regards to VCDQ helping bootleggers, it's a consequence of what we do, in much the same way that reviews/synopsis from iMDB pasted to CD covers of bootleg movies is iMDBs way of assisting commercial pirates. i can't speak for everybody else but I've always held the firm belief that we're ultimately empowering home users to make informed decisions about what to "spend" their bandwidth on, "outing" crappy releases and hopefully encouraging release groups to push that bit harder with the quality of their releases, but I concur that commercial pirates also use our information and reputation to their advantage... and yes, that was said in my best happy-clappy, compost mulching hippie speak but it is the reason why I've stuck around here for the last six or seven years
