-- The Hulk - WORKPRINT - SMF (http://www.vcdhq.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=20946)
First thing: props to SMF for a *great* release! I got this a little after it was released, and watched through some of the movie. I don't understand how many people are complaining that it is missing SFX, and the movie sucks, etc., BECAUSE IT IS A WORKPRINT !!! I suggest that you don't rate this movie until you see it in theaters, because for all you know, they could make it a very good movie! (Not that I actually like the Hulk or anything.. but meh :/) So I give this a 6/5/? <--because I am going to wait until I see the final version of them movie before I judge how good it is.
Just finished watching it. Overall not a bad movie.
7/6/7
Video reminded me of an old vhs tape, little dark in some parts but certainly watchable.
Having seen the trailers, I didnt go in expecting too much and I wasnt disappointed.
Glad I wasnt the only one to notice his magically disappearing pant leg.
I think having watched this once as a WP will make the theater experience a bit better as now I can try and spot differences in the actual rls. Atleast it will give me something to do thru the slow parts..
OMG
There is no way this is the final print. This is beyond crap. It's like my crap burnt and then molded. CD 1 was horrifically BORING holy cow. Seriously, maybe this was a decoy of the movie, no way universal studios and marvel could have made this a final copy.
I bet anyone that in the theaters it will be totally different (sounds, scenes, effects, etc)
This Workprint is a waste of time.
Just wait for the next cam or TS that comes out.
This is sad sad sad.

Definately an excellent pre, if you really really want to see this movie then grab this but those bars could get annoying and the quality is not that great either.
5/6/?
Unwatchable shit, the video's ok except in any dark sequences which are horrible. The Hulk is obviously unfinished at least in some places the special effects are not all in place.
The sound has a horrid hiss really noticable when you turn it up oh and the film itself is the worst pile of egocentric crap I've ever seen and I've seen XXX.
4/4/1

Not too shabby for a workprint, 7/5/5 Didn't like the movie too much, everyone will praise it now but after a while it'll be rubbish. This does seem similar to the Phone Booth workprint, the worse workprint I've seen must have been Boiler Room by EViLiSO, that was garbage.
Lol at VcdGuy's comment
Ok i watched CD2...as a pre-release its watchable and the video's not bad even with the 2 small barts on right hand side.
Top marks for the group getting this so early
The Workprint to watch as a movie is ok but i felt it was kinda weird with the missings sound in some scenes ..you sit and watch action and its quiet which gives the whole movie a somewhat eerie feel or to use another term boring..
Sure hope the studio visits VCDQuality and makes MAJOR alterations to some of the scenes

video was so-so, watchable but obviously a few vhs generations in there. To be expected for a great pre/workprint like this. Audio was fine when re-mixed to mono, a little over driven with some of the loud music but not too bad.
I agree with a lot of other people about the movie being low quality. None of the characters are sympathetic, the script jumps around a ton and half the time dialog seems like the two people arent even speaking to each other. Visually the film is decent, the comic book style cuts are neat even if they are over used all the san francisco hulk shots were awesome that and some of the fights were definitely the highlight of the movie. The last fight went down hill fast though... what can i say, ang lee or the writers or both really butchered this movie
5/6/4
AUDIO SUCKS THE MOVIE WAS SO SO IS THE HULK EVER GOING TO TALK
great for a pre, audio not bad either.
ill wait for a few more dozen releases though
7/6/8

sigh............. when will people learn
From the sample:
This is watchable... if you're desperate to see this movie.
I'll wait for either 1) this comes out in theatres or 2) a better release of it is released. I think the sound is kinda crappy though, it feels like i'm watching a vhs tape that was made 10 years ago or something.
6/5/X
based on watching the sample :
video seems like any other bad vhs screener quality , seems like the sound is kinda bad, but i guess its bareable for a two week pre.
all in all , i think im gonna DL this one.
Watched this last night on my 32" TV and it was good. Like watching a VHS tape... maybe a VHS tape going bad
Overall the quality was fair to good and the audio was ok.
There seemed to be some very mild audio sync at times other times its not even noticeable. The two small black bars are down in the right bottom corner and tucked out of the way good and do not ruin the movie. There is a small VHS tape looking glitch in the middle on the right side that gives it a VHS looking error.
Very fast and pretty good quality release guys!
Thanks
Video = 6
Audio = 7.5
Overall = 8 (used to love reading the comics when I was a kid and the movie did well IMHO)
Wow, this is great considering the actual release date of the film. I wish i'd see more workprints come out! It really gives us an unfinalized view into some of the minor errors that go on within films.
I just watched the entire workprint movie. It is pretty good for a unreleasesed movie. There are two bars on the bottom right-hand side of the screen. The effects in the movie are still buggy. The explosions are not all complete (atleast the sound of explosions). The Hulk animation is complete, except for one scene where you can tell they have not finished his cgi construction (the part where he is climbing out of the rocks in the desert). I thought it was alright, the beginning is very slow though. It takes about 40 minutes before he does his first transformation. The quality of the movie is fine. Definetly watchable. The sound is slightly off sync, but you can not really notice it (only if you are trying to notice). video rating: 7, sound: 6, and plot: 5. Hope this helps everyone.
Holla Back
I'd have to say 6/6/7
decent wp, very watchable, and excellent pre.
keep up the good work! 7/7/??
the only sound problem is the dialogue is on the left speaker and constant music goes on in the right speaker.
also i noticed the transitions between seens is very amateurish, must be just a temporary workprint thing.
Good shit guys!
has anyone ever heard of "character developement"? its obvious they want to start a franchise with this movie, so they have to set up the background. to be honest, i thought spiderman started off much slower than this, and the action scenes dont even compare with the hulk smashing shit up. i liked the movie, and will be in line to watch in the theater. people judging and rating a movie off a workprint is just retarded.
