Does this require a DVD burner to be burned and watched on a standalone DVD player?

OK. After careful review, I have come to the conclusion that this is indeed a good quality Telesync. NOT a Telecine. I don't know what kind of filters they used on the camera, but it is most definitely a Telesync. After watching it, I don't even know why there was a debate. I guess all the fanboys here on the forum were defending how it was posted, and not actually going by what the release was. If you actually see the release, its clear. The opening credits are cut off, and there is a slight angle. It has the usual dark scene problems like every TS has. It is very good quality though.

right...

1. aspect ratio looks exactly right, ie nothing missing on any edges and in correct proportions

2. no flicker, so only cam that could've been used is a FILM cam (ie non-consumer except 1 panasonic) , but as the release is in PAL that seems incredibly unlikely. no flicker and no anti-flicker side effects (brightness problems between scene changes). also no focus probs or shakes/lens movements from what i've seen (watched the chase sequence and some of the other explodey bits)

3. colour range is very good BUT small colour balance problems, as light colours are going to white too early.

4. sound is very good, my surrounds kicked in VERY hard from the beginning (prologic)

5. full credits including post-credit logos

6. cigarette burns present so is sourced from inside a theater

sounds likely a video link from the projector was used. they certainly exist, but aren't that widespread in the US from what i know. its all done from the booth. i wouldn't call it a true telecine as thats not performed in the same way. i think labelling TELESYNC or TELECINE is both wrong, but as the "scene" has no markings for this source, then both shouldn't be criticised. personally, i'd have dropped the source label completely, much easier

i did conceed however in my last post it could of been a *professional* non-consumer cam. of course this is all my opinion.

and yes you're right, it doesn't actually matter tbh

ehh, did you actually watch the whole release? There are cig burns on CD 2 when they are in the motor home - when arnold says "Your levity is good, it releaves tention, and the fear of death" There are two unmistakeable cig burns.

Watch closer next time eh.

:: Didn't see your last post pho - I agree fully.

I, personally, don't know whether it's a TC or a TS.. then again, I could care less.. it's a thing of beauty. The scenes at the beginning are a bit dark.. other than that, it's awesome.
