Video was GOOD. Dark, but GOOD. It was dark in the theater too, so no surprise there. Did an adjustment with TMPGEnc. set the brightness to 10 and the contrast to 30, made it look MUCH more viewable on my standalone. I didn't see any artifacts, even on the fast scenes. This was a well done release. Audio was crisp, and had the sound bouncing all over the place on surrond sound speakers. That DTS/Dolby audio source is SWEET.
Unlike many people, I LIKED the movie. I wasn't expecting it to be as good as any of the others from either series, and I feel that it WAS better than Alien 3, but all the other Alien and Predator movies were better. I still liked the effects in this movie. They did a good blend of CGI monsters and rubber suit monsters. Storyline was basic, and semi full of plot holes, but people seem to forget that this movie was trying to follow the plots of TWO other storylines at the same time, both having at LEAST 1 sequal each. That would be no easy task, no matter HOW good a writer you are. Ridley Scott and James Cameron would have had plot holes if THEY wrote it.

Video - 8
Audio - 9
Movie - 7

This is my first time leaving a review so peops dont flame lol. Just finished watching this release and i must say the video was good. some scenes were dark but despite this it was very watchable (even the dark scenes). My only complain was that person (who i think intentionally) put his head up. i know its a cinema release so im not complaining just saying. The sound was GREAT, had to tone down the sub however as the effects were too loud. As for the movie, i wasnt expecting nothing from this film. never watched any trailers or listened to the hype and i enjoyed it for what it was worth. If your an Alien or Predator fan then i reccomend to watch this movie. Even the novelty value of watching both in action is worth it

as for my ratings

Video 8
Audio 9
Movie 7

Video would have got a 9 if there werent any pesky people getting up in front of the camera and if the dark scenes were a tad lighter. But its free so im not complaining lol KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK MAVIN!!!!!

any how thats my 2 cents

don't wanna admit this but this film is shite!!! and the copy is not much better!

Whats with all the people over the screen?

I must have got a bad copy of this cos it froze in various places!

Video: 6
Audio: 5

the way everyone was talking on here this is the best copy!

Well if it is I pity the poor fool who gets the worst!

Yeah, there's the top of someone's head there for a couple minutes in two instances, but that's getting really picky, of course. It doesn't hurt to mention peeps/heads, I just hope no one would downgrade the main video rating for something like that since it's usually a very minor thing.

I don't know what's up with the audio on some of these latest releases. People say it's DTS, but it must be my lack of a DTS stereo because they tend to sound a little... lacking... in plain stereo. Like they're missing some punch or oomph or something. I'll chalk it up to my equipment, though. Can't fault it otherwise.

I can't believe anyone would rate this video less than a 7 minimum. Some of the telesyncs like this and The Chronicles of Riddick look like bad DVD. (That's a good thing.) They look pretty damn good on a 50" TV. I'd guess the lower ratings are from people watching on monitors. The picture didn't move or shake like someone mentioned, so that might be from a bad burn.

Some of the reviews here had me fearing the worst, but the movie wasn't bad at all! Wasn't great, sure, but it did keep from being overly cheesy while still delivering some decent action.

9/9/7

Noticed random skipping in audio late in CD1. Could be the standalone player, tho.
Good rls.

Wow, is it just me or do people in Europe never sit down for their damn movies. I mean WTF there were people coming and going up til the last 30 minutes. That aside I must say that im truly dissappointed with this film, but then again, Ive been dissappointed with every alien film since Aliens (which still paled in comparison to the original) As far as this release goes, Video was good, but dark. Audio was well done, and the movie, well, it kinda sucked. Overall i give it a 7/8/5 and i think im being generous on the movie rating.

keep them coming MAVIN

one LAST thing, was it me or was the movie like 1 hour and 30 minutes????? i mean thats a bit short dont you lot think? the shortest alien film was like 2 hours

Nice movie for whats its worth though

8 (reasonable pic)
7 (sound okay but had to turn it up on speakers)
2 IMO movie an absolute pile of crap and a waste of my time

Thanks to Maven for a speedy release of this movie. I was desperate to watch it but sorely disappointed. They should have left AvP as a computer game. Ah well.... just pleased I didn't pay to watch this one. I would say I agree there is the odd person walking across.... but what do you expect.... it's a telesync. It did not bother me. Sometime dark parts are a little hard to make out but pretty good for telesync. Otherwise release is more than watchable. This is the one I was waiting for.

Well yeah, in comparison to its predecessors the film was a little shorter, but then the average film length is generally 90-100minutes, and since this is still outside of that generalisation, you can't really concider it short.

Alien: 117
Aliens: 137
Alien 3: 114
Alien Resurrection: 109
Predator: 107
Predator 2: 108

Alien Vs Predator: 101
