Nice release. Watched full movie on standalone. I liked this movie.
Video- 8 A little ghosting at beginning, but overall was very good.
Audio-7 Seemed like it was recorded low. Had to turn up surround to the max to hear.
Movie-9 Even with all the negatives I really liked it. Could of done with less screaming from the daughter tho.
What did they crop from this? Subs possibly?

Excellent copy, just sound volume was way down and needed surround on full ... bit of a pain when the movie finished and we went back to TV,, woke the whole street up! Damned Fine movie though!!!

definitely some sync issues when converted to DVD. i didnt bother to burn to 3 cd's to check if it was the actual conversion that did it, but from everything read i am assuming its out of sync, it starts somewhere around the basement scene and gets fixed before the end.

This release is great..i must say to me it seems 100% in sync, good quality, the beggining is in russian though but never mind all it probably says is the name of the movie and for all the people that are wondering it is in English and it is the full movie(meening the there is sound in the last few minutes)
quote:Thanx will give it a shot.. Eventually i just burned all 3 parts on the DVD and sequenced them. It does a little freeze when it goes from part 1 to part 2 and on to part 3 but barely noticeable..

I stuck my mpg's directly into tmpgenc dvd author after patching them and have no sync issues. Give it a whirl and see what happens
Just watched it...
the movie quality is ok, i mean, for a telecine, but the audio....
sometimes i canĀ“t even hear what Tom is saying...
Anyway,
8/8/7 <---I didn't like the ending
ac3 bad LPCM good
used nerovision to convert and join the mpegs and used the LPCM audio option this time..volume was much much much louder...didnt turn my surround sound past 25 instead of 45...no sync problems whatsoever but video did get a tiny bit fuzzier than when i used ac3 audio option..go figure...
still 7/7/6
good all round
8/8/8
a damn fine telesync, not a telecine. look at the start of the film you can see the bottom of the cinema screen and the picture is slightly tilted, until it gets cropped as the movie starts.
having said that, very very good quality sound and picture, movie ended too abruptly imo but pretty good none the less, and some amazing effects.
v - 7
a - 8
m - 7
Video = 8
Audio = 8
Movie = 9

if you're having sync issues when joining, another option is to not join them. re-encode them separately and have them as distinct titles that automatically play one after the other on the DVD. this is easy enough in DVDLab or TMPGEnc DVD Author
I thought this release was the best I've seen in a while... definitely cropped, though.
8/8/7.5
the movie was better than I expected. anybody who has a problem with the ending obviously didn't know the story... and hasn't seen the '53 version, either.

take a peek
If Pal put the 3 files through TMPGEnc 3.0 XPress into 1 file then with same program using mpeg tools option Demultiplex into seperate sound & picture files then load into DVD-lab PRO 1.5 & after adding video file choose audio file in assets window then set tools/audio delay to 100ms & convert the audio file then add this to the video screen then hit the compile dvd icon & it's pefectlly in sync.
