and if a ts look like a vhs to me, i rather watch that then the hydro silvers.

BWAHAHAHAHA WTF is this? .. er OK

video = 7 ... good but dark scenes are shite, can cure them with tmpgenc xpress & sharpen it up.

audio = 9 excellent, nowt up with it. usual hollywood orchestral music that's churned out for every film, Im sure its the same soundtrack as 100 other films.

film = 4 i was bored shitless .. but then again im not 10 years old who its aimed at .. it aint no lord of the rings ... peter jackson make the sillmarillion for fucks sake , he could have done this 10 times better.

fuck dvp642
go with a norcent dp501m

you have the ability to zoom on a x/y scale only on .avi files tho.

my dream is to make the ultimate dvd player.

dream dvdplayer info:

will play all .avi types including qpel and gmc. all dvd formats including dual layer dvdrs. all region, macro free (hack code only for security purposes) svcd, vcd, mvcd, pal and ntsc, 1080i upconvertable
and able to fast foward avi files and be able to zoom on x/y scale, search ability. all subtitle formats including .sub

and the movie was good, but nero ads data to disc and I cant over burn cd1.
old 8x cd burner, and im using an old 700mhz ibm laptop for everything I do puter wise. wanna donate me your old puter? cool! pm me.

8/7/8

pretty good movie. spec hardly noticeable.. needs to clean lens better next time other wise im going to chop all their fingers off! naw im just kiddin.

my bad dude... just found it kinda odd as some other maven xvids went straight to the xvid page, I really don't care where it is posted, just wanted a reason as to why, which you gave, thanks.

Can't Play this film!

Hey!,

Does anyone know how to play this AVI?, I've tried Windows Media Player and it says I have no CodeC installed, but I AM running XViD, tried converting it with WinAVI and it says that it can't convert it because the codec isn't installed

Help!

::EDIT:: Download the latest Koepi Xvid codec? - NS::

104 replies in thread,i expect at least 95 have voted on sample alone.

this is not 9 or 10 for video it is infact probably the worst maven ive seen.

the daylight scenes are great but the dark scenes are so pixelated and discoloured it is almost unwatchable.

plus that annoying mark on screen.

having said that is is the best avaiable,i just expected a little more having become used to mavens releases.

video=7
audio=8

Posted by 0nslaught on 12-14-2005 06:36 PM:

Video= 6.5: The dark scenes are unwatchable and that black mark is annoying.

Sound=8: Pretty good sound.

Movie=?: Haven't watched it yet.

Posted by chrispeters on 12-14-2005 06:40 PM:

This is pretty bad...i am going to rate by mavens standard !!!!
V-7 (grainy...dark...and THE black mark)
A-8 pretty decent
M-8 ...gr8 for the kids !!
Overall ... not bad...but bad by maven standards (if u know wot i mean)

Video=6.5 Not as great as everyone is making out. Methinks everyone just rated the sample. The dark scenes are unwatchable, the black mark is damn annoying and the rest is grainy.

Audio=8 Pretty good audio.

Movie=? Haven't watched it yet, but I really enjoyed the book when I was 10 years old.

Posted by White Rabbit on 12-14-2005 11:49 PM:

thats why i actually prefer ORC's releases over maVen's now. the dark scenes on maven releases are horrible and covered with green and red. ORC's are just normal black color like they should be

v 8 (good, but dark scenes show how you cant really improve the color that well, im guessing a 1CCD cam who knows)

a 8.5 (good)

m ?

thanks maven but you need to work on those darker scenes, they look bad on bigger tv's

encoding software is the equivalent of The 404 going on a diet and walking thru the door. takes longer and sometimes more skill, but ultimately worth it.

Great Release, Great Movie...
not my type of movie but turned out to be really good.

Posted by ukaze on 12-15-2005 05:11 AM:

I dont think you will see a better version then this, picture is great sound is great yep the eye lash only pains sometimes cus of all the snow in this movie unless your a connoisseur it wont bother you. Have viewed it on several type of screens and have to say your bog standard 21 inch 4:3 looks the best and i would say my flat screen monitor TFT looks the worse. I was just thinking how many people rate videos that they have only watched on their monitors even some dvds look bad on a monitor (pixelated).

Awesome, Sincere thanks Maven!

Xvid's rock.

My wife was bugging me, she read the book as a kid.

I love the good vs. bad thing, love to be on the right side. Cool
flick, kind of straightforward and predictable but loved it anyway.
Loved the jaguars on the battlefield!

I think the Amber series should be done as well.

8/8/9 and saw it in the theatre.

v-8
a-8
m-8 (good movie, i thought it was going to be bad, but it had quite the imagination)

Posted by Easy_Tiger on 12-15-2005 01:05 PM:

This Xvid is of poor quality... all 1.2 gigs of it...
Image 4
sound 4

With the size of the download ie 1.2 gigs I was hoping for a crisp image... This film is a very good projection copy... the sound is echoie and the image lacks contrast along with vibrant colours...

The compression is poor and all high white's and blacks appear grainy with pixilation... The whole image is slightly out of focus...

My advice DON'T BOTHER DOWNLOADING...

I watch all these films on my xbox, great peace of kit. If a vid is poor quality it
does exagerate it but i think tjis is poor to watch even from your lapyop...

nice quick release
not for the archives

I don't know what Easy Tiger was watching, but it must not be the Maven release.
Opening sequence is not too high quality, but once the children enter Narnia, its wonderful. Nearly TC quality.
The camera isn't efficient in low light, but bright scenes are excellent.
It must be outstanding in the theater, as it looks great on my WS standalone.

Great family movie. Been waiting for 6 months, since I saw the first posters.

8/8/8
